Day 54 – Mount Robson

There was a lot of travelling by bus today.

We had breakfast in the hotel albeit it slightly delatyed as a vital staff member hadn’t turned up. The hotel manager was so sorry she came on to the bus before we left to apologise and show us her dog!

First stop of our long journey was at fancy Spahat waterfall which was a very tall waterfall dropping down a canyon.

We then had a long drive to Mount Robson which has a peak which is rarely seen. Luckily it was one of the rare clear days and we got a great view.

After that it was an hour to Jasper to our hotel for the next two nights.

Almost straight away we headed off on an optional guided ‘hike’. However, it’s so hot (mid/high 30s apparently) that the walk was repurposed as a visit to two local lakes and a short wander at each with some interesting stories (mostly about bears) from the excellent guide.

We were dropped back at the town centre at 8pm so grabbed some sanswiches from the store and walked the fifteen minutes back to the hotel.

Today we saw a moose, some elk, a local ground squirrel (and a stuffed bear, wolf and woverine in the hotel reception)

Just as we arrived the internet broke 🙂
