Breakfast this morning was on floor 12 of the hotel with an amazing view of Victoria. Then it was on the bus to drive to the ferry station, getting the ferry, then driving to a farm place for lunch. They made us a lovely indian meal and then we went blueberry picking.
After that it was back in the bus for the long drive to Kamloops with one stop in Hope, which is famous for being the place where they filmed the original Rambo movie, and also for its wooden sculptures which are part of a competition they have each year. It’s also the bottom most point of one of Canada’s most dangerous roads which goes slowly up hill for 20 km which is a challenge for the big haulage lorries.
Eventually we made it to our lovely hotel. We went out on to our room’s balcony and found it’s one long balcony open all along the side of the hotel so everyone can sit outside their room and chat! After some balcony chat we went to lunch and sat with four of our new friends and had a lovely time 🙂
The hotel is a conference centre on the edge of the river and has lovely views and a pool.
Fun Fact – at one point in our journey we were on a road which was directly on the border with the US so the right side of the bus was looking at the USA while the bus and the view to the left was of Canada.
