Breakfast, then a walk to the zoo via a flea market we found on the way. The zoo is a ‘town zoo’ and quite old-school with most animals caged etc. Lots of great signs and the animals generally seemed happy.
After the zoo we walked to the fish market which was crowded but fun. Then a walk back to the hotel via a couple of shops and then a snooze (it was 29 degrees today so a warm day for all the walking).
Nana-naps over, we walked to another few tourist streets recommended by both our guide and the hotel. This involved walking along some winding streets up stairs and hills until we got to a giant temple. We then retraced our steps, did some wandering round the Geish district and found a nice restaurant down a passage which had a balcony so we could watch people wandering down by the river.
Back to the hotel and some suitcase rearranging as our main suitcases will go on their own short holiday and we’ll hopefully see them in Tokyo the night before we get our flight to the UK.
Over 26,000 steps today. And four massive cookies …
