easter sunday (or resurrection sunday as it seems to be known in church circles)

jane and i were both in the band and there were lots of funky bass lines for me today

then after lunch and a nap for the olds, jane did an easter egg hunt

 

 

once we’d done that she boiled up some eggs

which we then decorated, both with our faces and using our own artistic impressions

 

we drove up to a a place where they are building some new houses hoping for some steep roads with no one about

 

and that’s exactly what we found

i went to visit my friend in prison today.  that was an experience.  he had to wear a bright florescent orange jump suit. exciting

jane had her friend amanda over whilst i was at the prison and her sons had a swim

this afternoon we did some more domestic stuff then debbie and warren came round for afternoon tea

today was mostly a home day

i spent the day doing computer things.  kezia likewise and this afternoon we went to see the croods with some free vouchers we got last year

 

esther has been at her easter camp sleepover with three of her friends.  they came over this afternoon for a swim as part of their organised activities

here’s a potato which looks a bit like jesus.

esther got her school report and it was really good

jane met with the lady who runs the organisation that sets up the french lessons for preschoolers that jane does and that was good.

kezia had the day off school for teacher training or something. esther still had school.

esther has gone to a friends house for an easy camping in their garden which meant kezia had to come to our music practice this evening.

busy day at work for me where they announced no pay rises this year, unlikely to pay much (any) of a bonus and various other benefits being removed!   Still no indication of likely outcome of next Thursday’s job reviews, so we’ll just have to see.

Here is some fibre to the home. Today girls had school. I went to the gym, did domestics and had my preschool class. Also a unsolicited job offer for me, but I’m not sure the hours are doable. Nice to be asked anyway.

Dave went to this, this evening. I think he had a nice time. Esther went to yoof.

And Pearl had a bone.

i got a double decker bus to work this morning.  that was exciting.

esther’s bus to school meanwhile was late then broke down so she got another bus instead.  she had to go to school in her sports kit as her school uniform was in the bag she left on the bus last night

jane collected the bag from the lost property somewhere up north and took it to esther at morning tea so that was good.

both girls had violin after school and i arrived a bit early to pick esther up so sat on the beach and did a few emails

jane and kezia went to kezia’s parents evening and kezia got a glowing report from everyone so that’s good!

one of those days of lots of busyness but lots of annoyments

one of the annoyments was kezia accidentally throwing a piece of paper in jane’s eye causing pain

another annoyment was esther leaving her school bag on the bus (we think/hope)  which contained her school uniform.  expensive if we have to replace it.  inconvenient at best.

jane delivered some dinners to a church family and had a nice walk with pearl.

i had a busy day at work.  this chap is splicing fibres in his nice outside office for ultrafast broadband.

i was at church for 7am to help with the sound.  jane was there from 8am as she was in the band

esther went to a friend’s house after church

kezia, jane and i went to the museum to look at the world of wearable arts exhibition which had been recommended by one of her teachers.  in fact we saw the teacher there.  she was wandering round the museum lost so we showed her where to go!

we had some sneaky cakes on the way back home

then this evening esther and i went to the cinema to see Jack the Giant Slayer which was a church fund raising thing

i recon the film was about scottish devolution, but i could be wrong. all the heroes had english accents and all the giants were scottish (and male)

kezia had her 6.30am swimming and jane and pearl went for a bush walk

esther had her last tennis (won the doubles, lost the singles in a tie-breaker)

kezia went to her friend’s house and stood on a bee

jane went to the shopping maul with esther and got a one-zee (that’s how i’m going to spell it)

i wrote finished off a document i’ve been promising to write for over a year

kezia did some quilting and we watched Hotel SOS which is a local rip off of the Hotel Inspector, except it has more swearing and blunt comments from the presenters!

i drove in to work this morning as i was meeting an old work colleague from the UK called Roger and his wife Ve.  They are doing a round the world voyage and were passing through Auckland today.

we drove over to Mount Victoria and North Head to admire the view before heading back in to Auckland. Most of the time was spent sitting in traffic !

esther had a tennis match after school (postponed from last Saturday) and although she didn’t win she had a great time

kezia had her swimming lesson

jane walked pearl and then had her prayer group, did some tidying and housework and job applying and met a chum.
