jane had an interview this evening for a job at a school across town. meanwhile another school has approached her to do some teaching so it’s all go!

i had my church men’s breakfast this morning before going over to get my blood test.  it seemed to take forever and i was told not to lift anything for an hour so i think they got their full arm full.

esther has had her church youth group tonight and there’s been the usual homeworks and music practising.

ah, forgot to mention.  my gastronomy event is scheduled for the 6th August when jane and the girls will be back, so that’s all good.  Shame it’s a bit of a wait but that’s ok.

jane did a relieving lesson at kristen this morning and at lunch found out she has a job interview tomorrow afternoon.  exciting.

jane and i went to see a urology specialist this afternoon to work out what’s causing my pains and constant nausea.  next step is to have a gastronomy (i think that’s going to fancy restaurant?) and some more blood tests.

this evening kezia had swimming and i caught up with Warren who came along for the ride to pick up kezia at the end of her two hour practice.

Kezia brought home some woodworkings sand a little keyring thing (plastic)she had made in woodwork at school.

Dave appeared in a Telecoms mag

And so did a photo he took.

Esther had an early start as she had orchestra sectional before school. I did Pearl walking, shopping, domestics and 1 lesson of supply.

Hmm. Dave doesn’t seem to have done the blog and has now gone to bed and I can’t see any photos either.

I was in the band at church this morning. After lunch Esther’s friend Alexandria came over and Kezia and I went to the Mall to buy funky shoes and get her holiday haircut.

Rest of the afternoon was spent doing chores, homework and practising.

jane was up early for a spinning class at the gym (kezia’s swimming had been cancelled as there was some competition on which she hadn’t entered).

then we all headed in to town to walk over and under the harbour bridge which was excellent.  the weather was perfect with blue skies and no wind.  Bit chilly, but not hugely so. 

We got to watch some bungee jumpers and learned all about the construction of the bridge and the ‘nippon clip-ons’ as the side lanes are called.  It was a bit weird experiencing how much the road flexes as vehicles go over it!

after the climb we had fish and chips from new zealand’s second best fish and chip shop, then went to a crafty market.  

at the crafty market we saw daniel bedingfield looking round who is a singer and a judge on New Zealand X-factor so that was exciting. he was taking a picture of something on his phone and my head appeared in the background.  here’s his photo from instagram

we did a little more shopping then headed home.   a good day.

jane had a day of relieving/supply teaching at Pinehurst today which went really well

my first meeting of the day was at Takapuna Beach Cafe at 10am which meant i could get up 2 hours later than normal.  i don’t know whether it’s related but i felt a lot less ill/painful inside than i have done for a while, so that’s good.

esther got an excellent school report today

kezia had swimming this evening and jane and pearl went for a twilight walk on the beach and discovered black dogs after dark are hard to see!

this afternoon i went to visit some people i work with in another office.   i don’t think they have many visitors as they were very excited to see me and had bought loads of cakes and everything!  that was nice (although i didn’t eat any cake due to dietary things)

it’s getting quite chilly now.  we’re promised lows of 3 degrees tonight which is cold for here.

there was a metal file on the bus seat opposite me on the way to work today.  otherwise fairly uneventful day with some very productive meetings.

the girls had school, esther had orchestra practice and kezia had swimming.  then jane had a band practice.

cheap petrol this evening at just $1.99/litre as a one day special offer before the tax increases on Sunday.  exciting!

photos today are ones i submitted to the north shore photography society monthly open subject competition.  Both got Honours which is very nice, so i’m pleased (i put these two photos in a different competition earlier this week and they were both rejected so it just goes to show how subjective it is).

i met up with Phil the prisoner, his probation officer and Ken from church today which was good.  we’ve now got a better idea of how we can help him.

much hilarity today as i booked myself a colonoscopy by accident, but luckily the receptionist realised her error and i was put through to the correct department (and i only need to wait a week to see a specialist rather than the 4 weeks if i had been trying to have a colonoscopy!)

anyway …

girls had school, both had violin, jane had pearl training and kezia had swimming. 

during the day jane went for a dog walk with kezia’s swimming teacher and her british friend before going to spinning class. 

and i had a meeting at lunchtime on the 35th floor of a lawyer’s office which had nice views.

lots of coordinating this morning as esther had to take her violin and trombone to school so we got the bus together and then i got another bus in to work

jane had to drop the car off at the garage to get some teething troubles sorted (at the garage’s expense), then dropped off kezia at janine’s house, then went to kristin for a day of relieving (which turned out to be not quite a day of relieving, but that’s another story)

i worked from home this afternoon so i could go to the doctor’s to see about my insides again and i’ve been referred to another specialist.  so that’s good.

this evening kezia had zumba, esther had tennis and jane walked pearl in the rainy cold.

and my work phone broke, but then came alive again, so that’s good news
