this is us watching graham norton on the telly so we could see my picture pop up (albeit for 4 seconds).  nice to watch it on terrestial TV rather than just via iplayer!

jane had a full day of relief teaching at a local school and it was really good.  hopefully they’ll be more of them !  she also got a call from her old school this morning asking if she could do some relieving there too, but had to turn them down.  what are the chances of that

kezia had an important maths test.  and esther nearly ended up on x-factor as a backing violinist (!) but the program makers changed their plans at the last minute so it didn’t happen.  if they do need any backing violinist in future though they’ve promised to ask esther’s school first and she’s on the list!

it was rainy on the way to work this mornign which made some nice patterns on my dash board

pearl went to  doggy day care today so was exhausted this evening.

i went along to buy my new lens for my camera only to find they didn’t have it in the right fitting.  but i played with some other ones and took the pictures of the shop front out the door.

and so ends the first week at my new desk.

jane went for a walk with pearl’s cousin and then picked up some microphone stands for me.

work for me and music this evening. i nipped in to town at lunchtime to drop some documents in to the bank – turns out they didn’t actually have a copy of our signature, but thankfully (or rather worryingly) it didn’t stop them cashing the cheque for jane’s car!

kezia has a big maths test tomorrow which will determine which class she’s in next term, and esther went shopping with jane.

i took the day off work to go to our friend Murray’s funeral.  He was the chap who setup the contact with my prisoner friend.  i had to be there at 10am for a band practice, the service started at midday and finished after 2pm!

jane had her little people church music group this morning and her teaching thing this afternoon.

this evening i’ve been to the photo club – i didn’t put any photos in this week so i could relax and enjoy looking at everyone else’s efforts instead!

really busy day at work today to the point where i was confused where i was in space and time a lot of the time!   at one point i had to go back up to my old office floor to find some people who sat near us, but turned out they had moved too and no one knew where to!  so i wandered around a bit until i found one of them.

jane had a nice walk with pearl the dog then took kez to the dentist for a routine check on her braces and some adjustments. then she went to her friend fleur’s

this evening it’s been violins, swimming, dog training and music practising (me)

here’s the view from my new desk.  there was a good sign in the kitchen though about teabags.

jane went for a walk with lorraine.  the girls had school and then esther had tennis.  kezia seemed to have a million homeworks

jane’s gone out for a church vocal workshop and i’ve had loads of domestic sorting and music practising too.

We all had a lovely lie in today. Then skype with Granny and Party and then church.

At midday the girls were relieved to have their devices back. Then after a sleep for the olds we went for a walk around Hobsonville Point. This had been an air base, but it now being turned into a housing development.

 

This evening Dave went to a community meeting to discuss the next moves to stop the building development behind our house and then he went to a  music prac.

jane and kezia were up early to get her to her 6.30am swimming lesson whilst jane took pearl for a walk

then jane went for a run

then esther went to watch a friend playing netball

meanwhile kezia and i went to in auckland town to go to Motat, the museum of transport and technology

kezia took a camera and took some great photos

esther had a friend over later this afternoon and they’ve now gone off to their church group for the evening

esther and kezia are both doing a charity 40 hour challenge so have given up their mobile phones and ipods/ipads.  let me know if you are interested in sponsoring them.

the car below is the first car crushed under some anti-boy racer legislation last year.  it was confiscated and crushed – the idea being that it disincentivises young people from doing stupid things with their beloved cars or risk it getting flattened.

we had a good time

i worked from home today to avoid the office move disruption.  it also meant i could go with jane to pick up the new car.

the bottom is a bit lower than our old one so that may make for some exciting trips.  we’ll have to see.

the girls had school, jane had her prayer meeting, kezia had swimming and esther went in to takapuna with some friends after school

Kezia had some swimming competition this evening and did well.  she also did well in a science test at school yesterday.  that’s good

 

and esther finished the work she was meant to be doing in art or computers or something so was allowed to play on photoshop.  she created the two pictures above but has no idea what she did.

the two faces on the top one was an accident but she liked it so left it that way.  that’s ma girl

today was the last day in my current seat at work which is a real shame.  I’ll miss the view.  we do have a view in the new seats, but it’s of a partition.  bet you can’t wait for pictures.

jane had a busy day with helen who flies away tomorrow, and this evening she went to crafty chicks and made some candles.

These Shreddies arrived today as a present from Dave’s chum Trefor. Trefor has published a book of poems. Dave’s cover of a sandy shoes appears on the cover of the book and some of the poems are about us!
