Today we went on an excellent walking tour – it was pretty much a private tour as it was just us plus one other chap and the tour guide. We did the old town (including the inside of the Notre Dame Basilica of Montreal which we can see out of our hotel room) and some of the grungier/interesting parts of town. The tour was 2.5 hours long, but the time whizzed by.
After that we had lunch in a restaurant then did our own exploring for a couple of hours in the heat of the day. We went by the Montreal Jazz festival but there wasn’t anything on when we were there and after many hours in the summer heat we were ready to get back to the hotel for a cool down.
This evening we went for dinner on the hotel rooftop bar. Montreal is expensive, but fun!
