People have asked that we keep them up to date with our adventures in the new world, so this is the place where we’ll do it.
Dave will still keep the main funkypancake blog going (update – main blog is now in retirement, but you can find my photo work at davesimpson.org ) but this is the place where we can update you on family news and pictures ! We’ll post more personal information and photos than we would on a public website, which is why we’ve gone to the hassle of having it password protected. Sorry for the inconvenience of that.
To navigate through posts click on the arrows just above the post title and/or visit the monthly archives from the front page. It makes more sense chronologically speaking if you click through each post in turn though !
If you just want our World Trip videos from 2024 where Jane and I spent a couple of months visting Japan, UK and Canada click here
Feel free to drop and email to dave@funkypancake.com if you have any questions etc or just want to stay in touch in a bidirectional way, rather than just via this blog which is rather a one-way medium

Have just read blog so far, sounds very exciting and loving to hear what you’re up to.xx
Hey Dave
Great to hear you guys are having such a ball.
Isobel is trying to send the girls their annual Christmas cards form HBC but we don’t have an address – please send to [address removed]. I will however keep looking on this blog in case it is here!
all the best
Craig
hi – we’ve deliberately not put our address on here for internet safety reasons (ask any 7 year old and they’ll tell you not to put your home address online)
however, i might do a post over the christmas breack about the area we live in. And of course you can drop us an email and we’ll ping you our postal address etc.
The blog’s a great idea and it sounds as if you’ve made a very smooth transition to a rather different way of life.
Thanks Roger !
Ooh I feel so priveleged to be allowed access to this secret blog. I have numerous comments I want to make. But will limit them to 3 1/2
1) The best compliment was that your “babysitter the other night was a ‘grown up’ “- never heard that before!
2) I laughed so hard when I read that it seemed like there were “millions” of women at Bible Study the other day. Yes we make cardboard cutouts of other women we know at church to help fill the room and add volume to the Simpson toilet survey.
3) I like how Jane writes as she would speak it. I can just picture her saying “Well today… which was nice.”
3b) I see there are a number of spelling and grammatical errors. Do you need to employ ‘someone’ as an editor?
er. the grammatical and spelpos are my own doing. i’d like to say they are deliberate so i can keep english an ever evolving language. but i’d be lying. i simply don’t check things before i post them on the blog !
and you’re very welcome to join our secret world !
