kezia had swimming at 6.30am then the rest of the day was spent at the ice rink for her birthday party.
this evening we were all exhausted and watched a film
This morning us girls went to the school bus stop to check up on the bus Esther will be catching. All good there. Then I went to my church office job and a friend came to look after the girls. This afternoon Pearl had her stitches out and the girls had violin lessons.
This evening Kezia and I took Pearl to her first dog obedience class. It was a bigger set up than I had realised. Kezia counted 39 dogs in 6 different classes. Pearl did not disgrace herself. Phew.
Dave went to work and came home tired.
public holiday today. perfect weather
jane and the girls went to the beach with chums
i went to the Laneway music festival in town with my next door neighbour and his cousin. it was a scorching day and after 7 hours in the sun we decided to head home. and i’m now listening to the headline ‘tame impala’ live on the radio rather than squashed in a carpark with 10,000 other people. probably for the best.
for those that are interested in such things, i saw kings of convenience (excellent), street chant (rubbish),
the eversons (very excellent)
lawrence arabia (very excellent)
Phoenix Foundation (good, last song very excellent)
real estate (ok), alt-j (excellent), divine fits (disapprovingly way below average), bailterspace (very excellent), yeasayer (not my cup of tea)
highlight for me because of the unpredictable noise was ‘a place to bury strangers’ who managed to smash up four guitars between them whilst playing
half a bass guitar
it was one of those concerts where you’re glad there’s a safety fence between you and the band, to keep the band from coming in to the crowd (which they still managed to).
here’s the finale including the forced removal of guitar strings and chuck-age
we went to the Warworth show today
here’s Te Radar. he’s off the telly
we saw a fluffy rabbit
some fantastic photo sculptures
some sheep shearing competitions
some shocked shells
a cow with a hump like a camel
and some cattle rustling
then this evening we did some gardening/tidying/moved the tramp(oline)/swimming
Got the new worship team roster out today. Hoorah! , lots of the day spent faffing over it, emailing, printing and posting.
Esther had a friend over and has now gone for a sleep-over at the friend’s house.
Kez went to the beach with the Eaverys and then to swimming for the first time in ages.
Dave and I had a nice walk on Takapuna beach while waiting for Kez.
