the girls tested esther’s school new bus route this morning, both there and back. it went well.
they had friends round for swimming during the day and this evening esther, kezia and I went to look round a building that the church is considering buying. it’s already a church and there was some good signs.
we got back home at 9pm and as a special treat we let the girls have 30 minutes in the pool in the nice warm evening.
it’s a world away from chilly britain!
we had our house sprayed today to get rid of creepy crawlies in advance of visitors arriving (we’re not infested, but we have seen the odd white-tailed spiders in the house over Christmas)
whilst the house was being sprayed, jane and the girls and pearl went to the eaveries to finish off their monopoly game
they also went to the dentist (kezia’s brace is due soon) and i mended the boiling water tap at work using a secret code and a hidden button
this evening jane’s been out doing the sound team roster.
After skyping and a meeting at the church office, us girls headed out to get Esther’s new school uniform.
This afternoon we met up with the Eaverys on Waiake Beach. Kezia stayed on with them, while Esther had her first lesson with her new violin.
Then Esther went to the Eavery’s too, to try out NZ monopoly. This meant that Dave and I had an evening together. Yay. We got fish and chips and went to North Head. Thanks Tim and Helen.
church this morning – me on sound, jane singing. despite all the chaos this week about not having set up crews or access to the church office because of the triathlon, we managed to set up with plenty of time to spare.
then this afternoon we had our oldest new zealand friends over for lunch and that was really great
jane went for a run this morning
then esther went to a high ropes course with her friends
meanwhile we had our english friends over for morning tea and a swim
then this afternoon we went to a friend from a church’s babyshower
and then this evening i ate a wispa bar
pearl is making a good recovery and has been zooming about the garden. she’s a bit camera shy though i’ve noticed
i saw this hat on the way to work.
pearl went to the vets today to be spayed (i think that’s the right word). she’s back now and feeling a bit sorry for herself.
esther had three friends over to play very nicely.
jane and the girls were busy whilst i was at work.
kezia had a friend to stay over night and got her some curtain samples
they picked up the repaired full sized violin which is a very nice instrument according to the mender man
jane has her book club here this evening. the house is full of ladies and there are books everywhere
the girls and i were given the task of wearing pearl out to keep her quiet so we went for a walk in the field
on the way back we met our new across the road neighbours
there are some tyres available for free in our street if you’d like any
kezia went to the opticians today and both girls got new shoes.

Dave’s work phone has broken.
Maybe some blueberries will revive it.
The girls and I have been continuing with our pet looking after services for other people and also have been kind to our own pets. Pearl went on 2 walks today.
Otherwise Kez went to play with a friend, Esther had a lovely lot of screen time and I did domestic chores.
Dave went back to work today. Boo!
For us girls it was a day of buying the school stationery and covering it.
Also we took Dave’s old violin to a mender chap as Esther needs to move onto a full size one. The luthier was very encouraging and said it was definitely worth restoring and once done it will be a great instrument and will good enough for esther until uni. Who knows what she will be doing with her playing by then. Hoorah!
