sorry this has taken so long to update.  every time i try to do it i have to fix loads of things  on my computer and by the time i’ve done it it’s too late.  it’s waaay past my bedtime and i can’t install the previous software i used to update the blog but it can’t wait any longer, so here goes

27 December:

shopping for computer and househould jobs stuff (eg wheel for pool cover).  popped along to the beach in the afternoon then went searching for good places to do night photography ahead of a course i’m running next week

28 December

did various domestic sorting and had a hair cut and another trip to the beach.

29 December

various domestic organisings and getting myself organised for the full day of photoing on new year’s eve. in the evening i took pearl to the beach which was a complete and utter disaster

30 December

more sorting of camera things in the morning then later in the afternoon i went to muriwai to photo the gannets (including some baby gannetlets)

pearl found a cat who tried to stare her out on our evening walk (it’s worth clicking on the picture of the cat to see it’s expression.  it was quite mean)

31 December

i spent from 2pm to 12.30 at a music festival.  i had an access all areas pass so i could set up my laptop in the little office and do my edits during the day which was great!  i still ended up doing some final bits until 3am, but i saved loads of time!

1 December

more organising, sorting and computering. and getting ready for photoing tomorrow. and it rained a lot

sorry i’ve not done an update for a while!   will try to do something tomorrow.  i have been busy though and am still alive

i made a dinner in 3 minutes which looked quite like the packet. and didn’t taste too bad

in the afternoon i went to the zoo which i’ve now befriended

christmas day started with a walk with pearl round the cemetery

then i went over to buzz and wendy’s house for snax and nibbles

they’ve got 9 kittens at the moment

on the way back i drove by Christmas Beach as it was on the way and it was Christmas.  it’s polluted so inadvisable to go in the water

after a quick snooze i went over to the De Kwants for Christmas dinner (outside) and secret santa-ing

i spent most of today editing photos from last night because the light was so poor.  usual pearl walk too.  and still fixing up bits of missing software from my newly repaired computer

this evening it was church so i could do a bit of photoing with the new hire camera which was a dream to use.  i wish i’d taken it with me to the concert last night actually.

i had my last day at work today so i’m now on holiday for one month!

my computer is now mended too which is good

this evening i went to see Star Wars with Buzz which was good.  then after a late night pearl walk i went for an even later christmas shop at the mall which was normal weekend busy at 10pm on a Friday night which was fun!  i then did some grocery shopping and came home

jane and the girls have been to bath and reading seeing lots of friends and family

worked from home this morning then drove in to town via computer shop for work this afternoon.

unfortunately despite $400 worth of repairs my computer is still broken and the shop is closed for lots of Christmas so that’s a bit of a disaster.

other than wasting time doing that i walked pearl round the streets in the dark.

jane is now at her sisters

i did various chores and went for a walk at the beach the last couple of days.  as well as church this morning

if i’ve got this right, the girls left lincoln to head down to gerards cross and saw our friends ruth and steve on the way.  they then caught the train to london to watch some amazing choir that esther loves.  it was in a church in Temple which is quite fantastic in itself.

today (or possibly yesterday) they made their way to jane’s parents.

jane has been up in lincoln having a nice time there

today i worked from home and had a conference call where pearl decided to snore loudly in the background.  other than a couple of pearl walks nothing much to report.

my desktop computer completely died to the point where i’ve had to send it to a computer repair shop which i’ve never had to do before.  hopefully they’ll be able to look at it before xmas

luckily everything is backed up to our home server so it’s not totally traumatic.  but still quite!  hoorah for my laptop instead.
