i managed to finally get my prescription today. it came in a head sized paper bag. good
jane had a good day at school and found out she’s got some good classes next year and a more manageable timetable so that’s great.
kezia had a mufti day and a swimming lesson
i had a 5 hour meeting this afternoon where we heard about more reorganisations at work. another few exciting months ahead at work i fear
school for all. jane had some good feedback about her teaching and some children came to her lessons despite having the day off or something.
kezia had zumba, esther had tennis, jane walked pearl
i went phoned the specialist up to find out what had happened to my prescription pre-approval only to be told that i had to pay for it myself the first time and see it it works. would have been nice if they’d told me that last week as it would have saved me the 4 embarrassing trips to the pharmacy last week. so, i went along today to a pharmacy to buy it but they didn’t have any so i need to go back to tomorrow. hey ho.
early start with a trip over to greenhithe for breakfast thanks to their sea scouts
our friends alex and anna were part of the fund raising. nothing for me to eat, but the girls enjoyed their eggs and ice cream!
then we went to church
this afternoon we went to get esther’s trumpet repaired (spit valve replacement)
since the shop was near to one tree hill we went for a walk and enjoyed the signs of a british spring
daffodils, bluebells and snow drops
and blossom and poppies
we took pearl and walked to the top of the volcano cone
we avoided any rain
and enjoyed watching kiwis hitting boulders with a big chunk of wood
then this evening it’s been all homework and domestic stuff
jane and kez and pearl went to swimming/walk for their usual 6.30am start
i did various admin-y things including putting the trampoline on trademe
this afternoon the girls went to see Aladdin at jane’s school which was very good
and a bit later i went for a walk at an amazing speed according to my slightly confused phone.

this evening we watched the best exotic marigold hotel which we very much enjoyed of

gorgeous day this morning. blue sky. 7 degrees though so a bit chilly all of a sudden
luckily i had my big camera with me, so could take a few shots on the way in to work
i had my camera with me as i was meeting a french fibre expert who was visiting Auckland. I follow his blog and remembered he was a photographer, so my colleague and i took him for lunch up sky tower.
we both sat there shooting away with our SLR cameras which was jolly good!
afterwards i went back to the office for a coffee with my boss’ sister. she works for my old boss in another telecoms provider and does a similar job to me (and him) which is very strange
that’s my office. i sit in the upstairs in the top left tower on the front left corner. previously i’ve sat at the top of the top right tower and the top of the bottom right tower. and every wednesday i meet some chaps from church in the cafe in the bottom of the bottom left tower. enough tower talk
the girls had school which must have gone well as they were all in good moods this evening
kezia had swimming and jane and esther walked pearl
esther had an audition for the school orchestra
and i got my only backup working again as it stopped a fortnightor so ago, which unfortunately means it’s trying to upload 100GB to Australia as i’ve taken rather a lot of photos in that time.

girls had school then kezia had a swimming competition
i had work and a conferencing thing, then did a parenting handover at the pool
school and work. esther had church youth, me had photo club
everyone had school.
no violin lessons this evening.
kezia had swimming but that was cancelled because the pool had to be shut just before they got in which was a bit annoying. but the teacher brought kezia back home so that was ok.
i went to see another gastro man who thinks my most recent tablets are doing the trick and has prescribed me something else too which needed special funding so i haven’t got it yet as my request hasn’t been authorised. hopefully i can pick that up tomorrow.
kezia had a teacher’s training day today so was at home all day. she did her homework and watched lots of telly and played lots of computer games and made a cake for our neighbours.
jane and esther had school and i worked from home.
after school jane took esther to tennis and walked pearl with a parent of one of her pupils who also happened to have a child doing tennis and also had a dog (i think that’s the story).
then this evening we went round to say hi to our new neighbours who seem really lovely. they’ve recently retired and have children/grandchildren in auckland.

it’s fathers’ day today in new zealand today. so there was free chocolate for gentlemens and paper moustaches.
the older kids also got free chocolate as they had to sit through the talk.
after church i went for a 2 hour training walk at long bay
i took my big camera so there were a few stops along the way as i saw things which were worth photoing
when i got to the far end i sat by the edge of the estuary and ate some chocolate to celebrate my half way point. as i sat quietly watching the flat water i started to see little plops so watched more carefully. and then noticed there were (rather big) fish throwing themselves out of the water every few minutes!

jane has been doing school preparation all day. kezia has been tidying her room and esther has been doing her homework.
this is a common sight at the beach – people bring their front room furniture
in fact there’s a lot of furniture (and other stuff) all round our neighbour streets at the moment as it’s our annual inorganic waste this weekend.
