work for me, mall wandering and swimming for kezia, swimming with friends at the hotpool for esther and usual domestic busyness for jane

work for me.  one of my colleagues wore a wig which rather suited him

esther went to a friend’s house and kezia covered more school books and helped jane set up the book display

this evening jane had her ladies book club which literary filled the house.

kezia and i took pearl for a walk to wear her out before everyone turned up and we’ve got a nice pointer on the map to track where my mum is in the world.

work for me (quite tiring after weeks of non working) and then this evening i went photoing with a photo society chum at takapuna beach.  i took lots of photos which i haven’t edited yet.  i’ll do that if/when i get a chance later in the week

esther came back with stories of her trip to waipu, kezia covered her school books and there was book reading.

Today Dave went back to work and Esther is still away so Kezia and I spent the day together and she chose the activities.

First up a walk on the beach with Pearl.

Then breakfast out.

 

Then to Paint the Earth

Then pizza for lunch followed by a dvd

Then crafting and then looking at photos of Kezia when she was a little girl.

Great.

last day of holiday today so jane, kezia, pearl and I went to the botanical gardens to look at the sculptures

i also spent some of my christmas money on a new dvd player and then kezia and i spent some time setting that up

this morning was spent tidying, dropping the microwave off at a menders, testing the pool water to make sure it wasn’t too dangerous after kezia’s eye incident yesterday, buying dog bones

this afternoon our good friends the guthrie’s came over and then this evening we went to a bbq up the road at some church friends’ house with some other church friends.

another good day

esther went to waipu this morning to spend a few days with a friend on holiday

kezia had a friend over for the day and they did hours of swimming

kezia had her swimming lesson this evening and ended up with such stinging eyes we had to go to the doctors afterward then to the mall to find a pharmacy

jane went for a walk with pearl and fell on to some rocks but was ok

the microwave broke but it’s a fitted one so john had to come over this evening and help me extract it

i went for a walk at long bay and jane has gone out this evening with her friend amanda

not quite the last day of my summer holidays we’d been planning!

we went for a walk at fairy falls today.  it’s a 3 hour walk up in the local rain forest and requires proper footwear

unfortunately it was only when we arrived that i realised i’d left my walking boots at home so i wore my jandals instead!

the falls were nice

and towards the end of the walk we got rained on by a passing thunderstorm

pearl enjoyed it

we had a picnic under some cover at a visitors centre

my feet were pretty dirty by the time we got back to the car!

this evening kezia’s swimming lessons started up again so i went for a 90 minute speed walk round takapuna (in proper shoes)

her’s a camouflaged street cabinet which i nearly missed.  can you spot it?

we went for a walk round the dunes and lake near Bethell’s beach.  the blue path was our 7km rather hot and humid walk

these photos don’t do justice to how big these dunes are, so you’ll have to look for people to give you an idea of the scale

the girls slid down (slowly) then had to climb up the near vertical soft sand dunes to get to the top again

then we went for a walk round the lake

the last bit of the walk is along the river.
