kezia and i were at church this morning by 7am.
esther and jane also left around that time to take pearl for a walk at long bay
it was a long morning at church. after lunch and i’d uploaded the church podcast we headed in to auckland
to go to go to the busker’s festival
we saw some excellent acts
and managed to avoid being dragged in to any interaction
fish and chips for tea and we’ve spent the rest of the evening computering
jane and kezia were up early for kez’s swimming lesson. jane took pearl for a walk and pearl was so excited at one point jane got dragged down a slippery grass slope!
later in the morning we drove over to warworth for the show. te radar was the compere again. this was our third time, but first with pearl. she was very well behaved

oh, and we also got to see a video of me aged around 13 i think made by my german school exchange friend. he’ll put it up on youtube at some point so i’ll make sure i share it with you when it’s up.
i worked from home today as i had a work call to someone in the amazing hilarously sounding kalamazoo (in Michigan).
jane went to the hair dressers this morning and then this afternoon was at school to start her preparations for the new school year
esther went in to takapuna to see a school friend. she and me (!) went to the driving range this evening whilst kezia was swimming.
we were quite dreadful. esther chose a club which was bigger than her foot which was good fun
i bought a new laptop for my mum this evening too which is a Windows 8 machine which is really confusing. hopefully i’ll understand and be able to explain it to her by the time she gets here in a few weeks!
busy day at work for me. i left at 3.30 to watch some of my colleagues running with the unofficial olympic flame! here they all are (and my two desk mates below).
jane went shopping with kezia and esther had a band practice this afternoon for the concert band
kezia had swimming this evening and jane’s out with her prayer chums
the girls went for a walk with pearl’s friend indie and had a great time. pearl even did some proper deep water swimming
this evening esther has been out to a chinese dinner at a non-chinese friend’s house
and i went back in to town to take some photos with the photo club. it was a bit too cloudy really, but i got a few ok pictures
tail end of a cyclone came by today. quite wet and windy, but all is well
i met my old chum simon for coffee this morning and my boss was back from holiday
the girls met debbie, walked pearl and did housing things then violin lessons/swimming
this evening i’ve been out at a committee meeting for the North Shore Salon of Photography which is nothing to do with hair cuts. i’ve now become the deputy webmaster. exciting.
the girls went for a walk with pearl and kezia’s swimming teacher and her dogs this morning and had lots of fun
kezia went to a friend’s house this afternoon while jane and esther did householdery type things
i had work and picked up our mended microwave on the way home then spent an hour with esther trying to squeeze it in to the small hole
here’s a letter in the office kitchen. some good spelling and wordings.
and this afternoon i felt a little earthquake at work which turned out to be a rather larger earthquake further down the country: story here
kez and i were at church for 7am to do sound and home by 12.30ish.
after some house tidying and a last minute trip to the local dairy we had church friends round for a few hours for afternoon tea and swimming
jane and kez took pearl to long bay for an evening walk and esther and me did chores.
i made jane wear the hat in the picture below. she’d want you to know that.

then we headed out to a chinese new year festival in auckland
there were lots of food places (not all chinese) and various traditional entertainments
we didn’t see the prime minister, but we saw evidence of his previous presence.
then the rest of the afternoon was spent sleeping/swimming in the pool/bbq/playing articulate
work for me. friend for kez. telly watching for esther
