i had a 5 hour meeting today which seemed a lot longer.  then afterwards met kezia and we went supermarket shopping while esther was at her tennis lesson .  kezia found then enjoyed the strange shaped fruit section.

jane had school and is out at book club this evening

esther is out at church youth

i got some of my photos mounted for a competition.  a couple need to go back as they are scratched unfortunately.

esther’s tennis team won a prize at her tennis club this evening.  they won their inter-club section in the season before christmas.  esther was pleased but then pointed out they were in the worst grade so it mean they were best of the worsts!  but they did move up to the next grade after christmas

i’m loving my walks to work at the moment as the it’s just the right time of day to see the sun rise.  and the weather has been perfect.

i had a busy day at work.  everyone seems to be ill, just been ill or about to get ill.  i was chairing a three hour meeting which went well so that was handy

jane had school and the great ‘report writing’ will soon be upon her

kezia had swimming

and that’s all i know

work today, with no internet or lan access all morning which was interesting.

jane had school.  she was expecting a tricky day but it wasn’t too bad

i was meant to be going to a work function this evening but didn’t really feel up to it so came home

kezia is going down with a cold so skipped swimming this evening

esther had a big band practice after school so jane and kezia drove all the way there only to find out it wasn’t on this evening.  it was esther’s fault for not reading the list properly

and i met buzz at lunchtime.  we had lunch then went to the telecom shop to get him a SIM card so we can both win some vouchers!

church this morning

esther went to a fishing boat exhibition with a friend

kezia and me spent most of the day putting her sylvanian family toys on trademe

and i popped in to town to pick up a camera thing which allows me to take pictures like the one below (a panned multi-exposure lensbaby picture of tree in case you were wondering).  

i popped in to the office on the way back to drop off my laptop and some fruit so i have less to carry in the morning

while i was out in town jane and kezia walked pearl at Long Bay.  Both pearl and kezia had swim in the sea apparently

kezia had early swimming for which jane kindly did the transport

then jane spent the rest of the day at a school meeting.

the girls and me went to the maul to get esther a prepaid currency card, but we forgot her passport so had to go back later in the day

so instead we let ourselves be distracted by looking round caravans

i spent the rest of the day doing NZ tax returns to various degrees of success.

and then this evening i went to a church music team meeting

meanwhile the girls went to see Leslie Miserables at Jane’s school which was very good apparently

my stomach has been giving me a fair amount of jip the last week or so.  probably not helped today by me eating a sausage sizzle (cheap sausage wrapped in a sheet of thin white bread)!  But  i have been chocolate-free for nearly 2 weeks.

i worked from home today as i went to see the audiologist.  my herring is fine apparently, although my spelling is still poor.

the girls had school and kezia had swimming while esther and i watched Sherlock

this evening jane went to the flicks with some friends.

and i played with some in camera multiple exposures.

esther literally went to a literary festival today and had a great day

i met up with Tim who is heading back to the UK tonight at lunchtime

jane had a busy day at school

and kezia had swimming.

camera club tonight.  i’m now in the top grade and got an honours for the picture above, and a Highly Commended for the triptych below.

jane had a busy day and work and also spent all evening working

esther went to tennis but it was rained off but luckily the timing worked so i could meet her at the bus station and drive her home

kezia had dentist and violin

esther had youth this evening

esther had her trombone grade 4 exam today.  i picked her up from school and both her trombone teacher and violin teacher were there (her violin teacher was her accompanist so that was nice).

she thinks it went ok, so we’ll have to wait and see

jane had school then school meetings then school prep.  along the way she did the usual shuffle of girls at swimming/violin

i went out to a little photo group thing where we talked about cameras.

this is an article from a NZ newspaper today.  the quote on the second sentence is a classic.

and then this was in our local paper.  This caption under the black and white picture helpfully points out the football player in the article can be identified as she’s the one wearing green

i met tim for a coffee before work and gave him a plastic bag full of clothes. in exchange he gave me a small heater.  i used my mum’s suitcase as transport, so it looked like we were doing a very suspicious transaction in the middle of town.

work was ok, then this evening i went round to a photo club friend’s house to help them learn Lightroom while kezia was at swimming.

meanwhile esther had a band practice and jane went for a run
