hello. dave here. back from wellington and about to fly off to sydney, though to be honest i’d rather have the weekend here with my family …
i’ve been really tired and a bit under the weather for the last fortnight, having had a stinking cold last week and a stomach upset which seems to have lasted all this week. hence the early night last night, and a rather uneventful overnight stay in Wellington on Wednesday night. i did attempt to go and see a band play live, but they weren’t going to be on until 10pm and i was too tired (or too old perhaps). anyway, hey ho.
And on a musical note my old chum from university jarvis cocker is in new zealand at the moment for a couple of concerts, which i’ve managed to miss by being in the wrong town on the wrong night. oh well.
And as for that rain jane mentioned yesterday, it’s got worse and worse and hasn’t really stopped yet. i even got an emergency email from the national emergency people saying to be careful in the rain.
we were meant to be going to a barbeque with friends from work but we had to drop out as our house is leaking quite a lot of water through the ‘ranch sliders’ making a rather large and ever expanding puddle. a soggy shame, but at least it saved jane having to drive in to auckland in rush hour when all the motorways were stationary.

It’s still chucking it down and the rain is still coming in. I hope it stops before my taxi picks me up at 4.30am to get to the airport.
Anyway, the bonus is we got an evening together so kezia used the opportunity to demonstrate her dance routine which she’s been learning at school for the past few days (that’s the picture at the top above)
and now the girls are in bed, it’s time to get back to unpacking boxes, and packing my suitcase.
i’m taking the laptop with me to Sydney which might mean postings from both jane and i. or might mean posts from neither if i can’t find any internet and jane can’t work my computer !
