Breakfast in the hotel (very budget, but did the job) then we went in search of a beach umbrella which we remarkably found remarkably fast at a shop called London Drug. Then i went to a nearby shop/store to collect a lens hood i bought from Amazon and had delivered to an Amazon drop box here in Vancouver as i wasn’t sure what address to use. It worked like magic – you just walk in to the store, stand in front of the lockers, press a button in the app, and the door magically opens. Excellent!
Jane and i have spent most of the day on the beach in the gorgeous sunshine, and this evening we walked to a place called Gas Town which is meant to be a tourist destination, but wasn’t quite what we expected. we did see the Gas powered clock though, and even caught the 8pm whistles.
We had dinner in a nice italian place and sat outside next to the street, where we saw a wide variety of Vancouver people go by. A quick google confirmed that there’s quite a problem with opiods and we unfortunately saw plenty of evidence of that while walking around this evening.
The beach and hotel are lovely though!
