Lots of walking today between meetings which took me along the south bank to Westminster, lunch behind Westminster abbey at a community cafe where i had a super cheap cooked meal, then i walked over to the city to meet up with an ex colleague. I also Princess Anne, (Princess Royal) go by in a car cavalcade.
This evening i walked to the Barbican and back over the bridge. Along the way i saw the london eye, westminster, national covid wall, trafalgar square, the old bailey, my favourite cafe in all the world (sadly closed when i got there), postman park with its plaques recalling stories of departed heroes, and the wobbly bridge (wobbles are long gone).
On the way back to the hotel i stopped at an Amazon Fresh store, where you just load what your want in to your shopping basket, tap your card on a payment terminal and walk out the front door. Amazon has been tracking your every move as you walk through the store so know what’s in your basket and what to charge you for. quite amazing/spooky.
