Day 12 – Tokyo to London

Up early to check in for our flight – an easy five minute walk from our hotel room.  Lots of various queuings through security etc then some waiting, then an uneventful 14 hour flight to Munich.

There was an actual cat on the plane though which did a lot of meowing during the flight. We last saw it with it’s owner by thr xray machine at transit in Munich as the x-rayers weren’t quite sure whether to put it through the machine.

Other bit of interest was the on board screens showing the plane flying via Asia to Munich but the plane went through that little gap between Russia and Canada, then along the top of canada and down by Iceland to Munich.  That made for some cool images on the on plane camera of melting ice.

Munich Airport involved a very expensive sandwich and a bit of a sit down before boarding.  We miss the quiet organisation, efficiency and queuing of Japan already…

Our friend Julie picked up us from Heathrow and we’re now looking forward to a good night’s sleep.

I’ll do the video and photos tomorrow as we’re both a bit pooped this evening, and our bodies think it’s 6.30am and we’ve been up all night.
