i don't walk much in a regular day so i've now got a noticable beer/chocolate belly. so i decided to see what i could find within a speedy walk from my office. and i found the thames near Syon House. And it's very nice. i'll be back on a sunny day to get some nicer photos.
i like how they need to point out this is naturally beautiful ... and how its not compatible with rubbish

big eye is doing a big job in his bathroom and wanted to share it with us, which is nice. he's going to keep us informed so we can offer help and advice as he goes. it's going to be an opportunity for some really bad puns which will no doubt drive us round the bend. eventually i'm sure he'll be flushed with success
our friend big eye (him who has his own category), sent me these pictures. i think it's a do it yourself people carrier, and he's demonstrating an ideal way of carrying extra passengers.
miss president sent me this excellent bollard picture:

she wrote: " I emailed you a few weeks ago about the following pictures. These were taken while on a walk in Hewitt, New Jersey, USA. I think that the poor bollard looks like he has been sick. :) My fiance and I have now found ourselves on the lookout since I have been following your blog - we see bollards/cones everywhere now! "
i can highly recommend The Water Poet in Shoreditch. fantastic place.
they were recording midsommer murders at this train station on monday. if you look carefully you can see john nettles in a big jacket.
i spotted the crew fiddling about with a ladder by the normal station sign

and by the magic of gaffer tape, it was converted in to Causton station

seconds later (once they'd all got off the ladder and moved to the other side of the platform) and small gust of wind blew the sign back off. i'm not sure what happened next as i viewed this through my train window which was only parked up for a few seconds

thursday night was our industry awards night. this year hosted by lee hurst who was quite hilarious (not a word i use lightly).
Keith (other half of pootlecat) sent me this and says "I was at my Niece's Christening a few weeks ago when I saw this quality "mind the step" sign in the church and thought of funkypancake (St Michael's in Linlithgow, if you're interested)"

as also seen here and posted with his permission (just in case you were worried)
this advert is often found in underground trains and it's a bit weird i think. Cheryl Baker is a D list celebrity in the UK and has been for 25 years. Her little bit of 'proper' fame was being in Bucks Fizz doing the Eurovision skirt thing back in 1981.
However, i'd say she's of Bucks Fizz fame, or formerly of Buck Fizz. The wording on this advert suggests she's known as someone who used to be famous for once having been in a famous band.
it's a shame of fame that these days you can be famous for once having been famous for being famous. 3rd generation fame in the same person if you will.
(that was quite wordy for me)
this photo looks super-imposed, but is real. i've just changed the contrast a little, but the strange effect is just snow on it. the original is here if you want to see.
we remember blaine in a box. now it's rich is a box.
Julie sent me this photo with this email:
"I took this picture this morning while leaving the dentist's office. I think I am getting better at finding odd things all over the place. I think I would have taken a better picture if I was a few feet to the right but I was in my car at the time with another car pulling out of a parking spot and was about to come behind me. You can use this picture if you want. It's a recent ambition of mine (for the past 7 or 8 months) to take a picture I thought was good enough to send to you, and one that you would use. If this one isn't good enough I will just keep trying."
It took me a while to realise why this is such a fantastic picture. it's worth studying. julie took in the picture in Utah, USA so you UK drivers will have to thing the other way round.
i can't say i recommend moving car based photography (if you are driving at the same time) but julie's done a good job !
i've been trying to expand my camerist skills a bit and trying to get in to lighting. i'm completely rubbish to be honest, but it's worth a go. so far i've managed to get a remote trigger for my canon flash, seen here bungied to my monopod.
kezia loves being camerist's mate, holding the extended monopod to the side of the thing i'm photoing.
answer here
it's kezia's birthday party tomorrow and jane has built this magnificant dora the explorer cake. fantástico
