i spent two early mornings (5am) up castelrigg taking photos of the sunrise when we were in keswick. the first morning i spent nearly three hours there and it was all cloudy so i didn't get many nice photos (these are the negative ones i've been posting) - but i enjoyed playing with my new camera as it was my birthday morning !

here's a red glow as you approach the stones from the road

the next morning was much better. totally amazing - everything was glowing red when i arrived and there was mist creeping down the valley. even the cows seemed in a better mood, but more about that another time ...

and here's the red glow up closer
