i spent most of the day in auckland today.  the morning i was on a Reflections tour which is run by the guy who owns the photo tour company i do my street photography tour.  the idea is that i can cover his tours if needed and he can do mine.  It was a good morning, although seeing reflections of the Sky Tower in a office block windows is a challenge when it’s so foggy you can’t see sky tower for cloud!

after that i popped up to the library where a musician i know was doing 5 minute performances for one person at a time.  that was excellent.

then i sat in a cafe for an hour and a bit until the girls turned up in time to go to the IMAX cinema to see the latest Pirates of the Caribbean  film.  i got to test my new earplugs too so that was good

jane felt a bit better today so went to the hairdressers, did some housework, dropped off some heaters at some cold friend’s house and went to the supermarket!

 

i worked from home today as the boiler man had to come and find a leak.  he didn’t find it and went away.

jane had a rare day sick today and hid away in bed sleeping.  she’s got the same vicious cold/flu thing i had last week.

kezia was a bit undertheweather but went to school anyway

esther had school then went to a Korean night this evening

kezia watched a film with her church youth group

school and work.

i got asked if i could do a couple of photo things so i spent the evening writing up a quote.  we’ll see how that works out.

i took lots of photos at church this morning in an attempt to get something to replace this rather bizarre one they’ve used to illustrate the quality teacher at our church (doesn’t everyone look happy)!

after church i whizzed in to town to pick up kezia and jane who have had a fantastic overnight stay in their posh hotel.  Sounds like they used all the facilities (pool, sauna etc) and ate all the foods (massive breakfast, curry in their beds!)

esther had a good camp with her choir and her game which involved after eight mints was a triumph

as soon as jane and kezia got home, kezia had to get in to her school uniform and head off to prepare for a concert with her choir this afternoon.  it was a joint choir concert with a girls choir from jane’s school. 

jane and i went along and jane knew just about everyone there from one school or other!

after that we drove over to the girls school where esther was at her chamber orchestra rehearsal (which kezia had had to miss because she was in her choir concert).   Esther and a few other chums had arrived a bit late too because of their choir camp.

and i found some old church numbering system in the church i was photoing in yesterday afternoon.  good times.

kezia and i did some shopping chores first thing then at lunchtime we headed in to town.

i dropped kezia and jane off at the very posh Langham Hotel where they are going to have a day of fun

i then drove over to a nearby church to photo a very shy organist who didn’t want photoing!    As a result it didn’t take very long and i’ve spent the rest of the evening editing my photos from today and yesterday.

esther is on her music camp up north somewhere.

i managed a day at work then this evening went to photo two psychedelic bands and a noisy band.  here’s a video clip of the noisy one.

the bands were from wellington but because of a last minute venue change the only people there were the bands themselves !  a one point a shopping trolley got set on fire by some local homeless people who seemed to be enjoying the night!

esther is on a choir camp and jane had a nice day at school cooking french pancakes!

and i picked up my new car on the way home from work.  luckily i didn’t park it near the burning trolley!

i was home sick again today although i did feel well enough by the end of the day to take my trousers to the maul to be adjusted.
