Happy Easter, Dave Jane Esther and Kezia
jane spent most of the day at the office then went to the gym. the girls had school. i had a busy day at work.
the girls had some ‘fun’ stuffing the guinea pig run in to the car as it was slightly too big. but they managed to get it in somehow and they are now safely at debbie and warren’s house.
here’s my desk – it’s the clearest it’s ever been. apparently the office is having its 6 monthly flea eradication spray this weekend so we had to do a tidy up.
this evening had been mad packing for holiday. we’re off at 4am tomorrow for the 6.10am flight to christchurch so not much time to do much in the morning.
well, auckland seems to have escaped all the wind of the incoming cyclone so that’s nice. and still very warm out.
busy day at work for me. jane had her mainly music then was in school for a while. this evening it’s kezia’s swimming
here’s an interesting cat sign i saw this morning. the mystery continues …
jane had her parents evening today at her school. they went well and the girls sat and watched dvds whilst she was speaking to parents.
i visited warren on the way home from work at the hospital and he was in good form.
esther said she’s had a couple of lessons of just games today as they are nearly at the end of term.
this week does have an edge of excitement with our holiday looming on friday morning. but at the same time there’s loads to do at work first (including some packing)
Dave and Kezia did the Shore to Shore walk today. A fund raiser for schools.
It as from Takapuna beach to Milford beach. They went on the bus from Albany primary school.
Esther and I went to church and I was in the band. Then it was the church picnic at Long Bay.
Here we are doing some team games. Dave took this from his station at the sack race.
It was the Flippaball final of the term this evening. Kezia’s team had a hard game and lost, so came second overall. Dave has gone to a concert this evening.
Our clocks changed today so it is dark by 6.30 boo.
main event of the day was kezia’s piano concert. she was great. we went for an ice cream after
jane took kezia to swimming this morning and then went to get her workout routine from the gym people. so she now knows how to work the machines and how much of what thing to do
i bought a new printer as the old one wasn’t behaving. it’s a wireless one and took a fair amount of setting up. i also did lots of sorting out of paperwork and stuff so that was good.
the evening ended with some pictionary. clocks change tonight
so, we made it to friday. good
my day started with a decent walk from the bus to work to hit my 10,000 steps. only two more days to go on that. yay. otherwise a day of writing things and talking things over and a curry at lunch (photos down below)
jane seems to have spent most of the day in a cafe
the girls had swimming after school
and we got a new te radar dvd to watch as family telly, so we started watching that tonight
jane did some gym stuff whilst the girls were swimming
i didn’t
tiring day today. i had a couple of meetings today including a two hour industry meeting on something new which was interesting. and on the 11th floor of a building so had some nice views
but i was home by 3.30 to meet esther and take her to tennis (during which i went for a walk to hit my 10,000 steps) and then violin practice (via a burger place)
jane had parents evening at school and had a full day of teaching things i think.
we all met together briefly at music practice to pick up kezia who went with jane. here she is watching a dvd on jane’s laptop
oh, and esther did some inter-school orienteering competition today. she did get lost, but just once. and the person in her team who got round quickest just followed a boy who looked like he was doing the same route as her!
don’t panic about the title. nothing bad happened today
kez was up in the night with a painful ear ache which was accompanied by a proper cold by the morning. jane and i were pretty tired from the nightime interruption. But as i only had one meeting, which i was able to dial into, i decided to work from home and take kezia to the doctors. (jane was working all day)
but i did need to drive in to auckland to pick up my laptop and some papers, but i was back home by 7.20am
the doctor was very nice and said kez had an ear infection so we got some anti-bi-wotsits and kez spent the rest of the day watching home improvement programs on the telly
jane had a catch up with her boss at church which went really well i think, and esther had a violin lesson after school
then this evening i went for two walks round the cemetery to hit my 10K steps. the second trip out was with esther and we saw these fantastic mushrooms.
magic
our old neighbours from the uk are in NZ visiting family and holidaying and they kindly gave up a few hours of their holiday to spend some time with us. so we went for a walk on long bay beach and then were back to ours for a meal and lots of chatting
it was great to catch up with them again and here all the news from the old world!
i drove in to work yesterday so went for a walk in the other direction round the harbour and saw this excellent sunrise.
jane went in to kristin in the afternoon and in the morning did her church work
kezia had an earache and developed a cold in the evening which made for a restless night.
