Up on the gondolas again for us, as the girls and I were going to go down the mountain on zip wires. Eeek.
Here are our guides Molly and Brad.
3 hours later here we are at the bottom. It was pretty cold on the mountain. Dave walked down. In the afternoon we took a drive Glenorchy at the top of the lake.
Loverleee.
We started the day with a slap up breakfast by the lake,
followed by a spot of skimming.
Then we went for a lovely boat ride on the historic steamship TSS Earnslaw.
TSS Earnslaw is believed to be the only coal-fired passenger-carrying vessel still operating in the southern hemisphere.
We went across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm on the western shores and back.
In the afternoon I hit the shops and Dave and the girls discovered frisbee golf!
it’s strange going back to work on a Thursday after a public holiday on a Wednesday.
i had a really busy day with solid meetings between 9 and 2.30pm. i felt a bit weird towards 2pm as i hadn’t eaten but then i ate and all was well.

Today we went to Arrowtown. We stopped at Lake Hayes on the way. Beautiful autumn colours.
Arrowtown was a mining town. It also had some lovely trees.
We went on a nice walk.
And visited the Chinese settlement
On the way home we stopped at the Kawarau Bridge Bungy (bungee) – home to the original 43 metre Bungy Jump.
another stunning day today. low 20s. not bad. i even saw some dolphins in the harbour from my work window in the distance (too small to photo)
busy day at work for me, but all productive stuff so that’s good
girls were back at school and seemed in good form this evening
jane went to the opticians, saw various chums and had her gym assessment (which lead to a trickier training program)
this evening we had our life group and an extra three people turned up thus nearly doubling the group size. yay! we’re just beginning a new series on Revelation at church which we’ll study in the life group in the week following the sunday before if you see what i mean. Day 3 was Easter day, so we went to St Peter’s Anglican Church as recommended by Fleur. Good job we got there early, it was very small and packed!
There were conkers outside
Also recommended by Fleur, we had lunch at the Halo cafe next door.
Then off to the gondola with our Flyby tickets.
Lovely views from the top and then down on the luge.
And back up on the chair-lift. Good times!
This is an underwater fish watching place by the wharf. You could pay some money for some food to be released and then fish, eels and ducks came along to eat it.
