i was back at work today . everyone else had school
i went out photoing a band in the evening who were a bit more lively than i usually photo

i should have called my company ‘pancake shots’
the gig was very dark and people’s phones seem to take better shots than i did!
jane had parents evening today which was her first one for her tutor class. it went well, although she had to speak fast as the time slots were small!
i woke up with a stinking cold and aches so was off sick today. i did manage to pop out to the chemist late morning though. i’m feeling ok now although a bit sore throaty.
esther had tennis practice and korean singing.
kezia had school and walked pearl. it rained this morning and is starting to feel a bit cooler.
i didn’t take any pictures today . but i might have sold some photos to the chap who was the support band for the concert i photoed last Sunday night. that’ll be my first one for the new company (and the first one to include GST/VAT). it’s not a sale until the money hits my new bank account though, so i’ll keep you posted.

my company got incorporated today and i set up a bank account (negotiating the account as fee-free for 2 years!). all scarily quick and simple.
NZ is meant to be one of the easiest place to set up a business and i can understand why.

all the girls had a school holiday today except kezia who had a day of choir practice with a school in auckland and an australian school. sounds like they had a fun day
jane did lots of errands.
esther had a hair cut
i had work then finished editing the engagement photos
i went to see a tax advisor man this morning and have started the process of setting up a limited company to be more tax efficient.
this afternoon jane and i had lunch with a couple of jane’s colleagues and lots of dogs (but not pearl)
and then this evening kezia came back from camp and from the stories she’s told us, it seems like she had a good time after all, although she did say ‘on balance it was neutral’.

esther has done lots of homework
and i managed to fit in some photo editing. just the engagement photos to finish off now and then i’m just about up to date

at 3pm today i heard i was able to shoot Brian Wilson and Al Jardine of the Beach Boys this evening. which was a great experience.
my photoing was all over by 8pm (first three songs and 7.45pm concert start) so i was home by 8.30pm which was handy

this morning esther had a korean drumming practice so i took her to that and dropped off her sleep over friends on the way. she then went in to town with her friend for the day
then i went to Muriwai to do an engagement shoot with Jordyn and Cameron. here are some quick edits. this afternoon i spent a while starting the edits and our neighbours came round at 4pm for afternoon tea
jane had her hair done this morning then did lots of housework and this even has caught up with debbie
kezia is still at camp.
i watched a live online seminar on photographing concerts this morning while everyone had a long lie in
we then went to muriwai to scout out some locations for me to photo with some friends tomorrow
jane took us on a walk which she’d done with the labrador club which is perfect for what i need (i think) so will do that route tomorrow
when we got back the girls did some speedy tidying and then a couple of esther’s friends arrived for a sleep over
they were watching korean dramas and films this evening so jane and i went to cinema to watch Brooklyn which was a nice film (boutique cinema so lots of rustling of sweet wrappers and low level talking as usual)
and we’ve heard from Kezia that she’s getting on ok now at easter camp so that’s good news
wet wild wind and rains this morning so i went in to work early to avoid going on a high sided bus over the bridge. not that it would have been a problem, but you know.
this evening jane and i had a church band practice. i don’t think we’ve been in the same band together for years possibly
and the old plants were taken away in my office and some new ones arrived nearly straight after
and kezia went to easter camp with a church group that her friend belongs to.
it had stopped raining by the time i went home
work, school. jane took kezia to drop off her stuff for camp and esther had a later music rehearsal at school
after work i met up with some of the other photographers who were part of the exhibition on Queen’s wharf.
then i went to my photo club, but my photos didn’t do very well! just an acceptance and a highly commended.
