work / school then exhibition opening

here’s my booth (zebra and stuff behind)

here are all six of us photographers exhibiting

about 100 people came along to the opening which was good

and i’ve got a sales lead for my big canvas which is hopeful!

work/school for all

my photos have finally come down from Queen’s Wharf and have been replaced by 30 years of women at sea.  which seems fair enough

public holiday today for the queen’s birthday

we had british friends over for morning tea then kezia had a choir practice at school so i went along to a friend’s art gallery

while i was there one of the models of his pictures turned up so i grabbed a few pictures for Ilan

jane and i did our voting papers for the UK/EU election

and i taught esther how to do pivot tables in excel

church then a day of photo editing for me / home work / house work / school prep for others

in the evening we went to the imax theatre to watch Alice Through The Looking Glass and then went for a meal to celebrate esther’s exam results from six month ago (thanks to my mum for treating us to that!)

i spent four hours in the morning setting up our exhibition.

after whizzing home for lunch kezia and i went in to Auckland to get her new phone which had finally arrived after 6 weeks of waiting

then in the evening i went out to photo a band at the Old Folks Association in Auckland.  It had the worst lighting of any gig i’ve been to so far which was quite impressive.  i resorted to using flash which i’ve not done before.  i still have so much to learn on how to use it properly!

My photos required quite a bit of editing to get a final set of photos worth sharing

the wedding on friday was really good.  quite different from a traditional british wedding, especially the marriage ceremony itself

apologies i’ve not updated the blog for a day or two.  we’ve all been busy.  will catchup with updates on monday !

jane and i spent the afternoon and evening at our friend’s wedding which was a lovely thing.  it was very cold though.

i had the day off but was up early to walk pearl round the cemetery and found these toadstools/mushrooms

i also had a pool fence man come round to talk about new fencing

and the record shop where i took my photos last saturday phoned to see if they could use on of my photos at the top of their newsletter in exchange for an album which was nice

the girls had school and made their own way home successfully. 

kezia’s old phone completely died yesterday but it’s ok as we heard today her new one is available to pick up from the shop so we’ll get that tomorrow

i also did lots of admins for the exhibition which we set up tomorrow

4 degrees centigrade as we drove back from the wedding this evening.  chully.

i worked from home this morning then had the afternoon off so i could finalise my presentation which i gave to the Auckland Photographic Society this evening.  Seemed to go down well.

this is me looking in to the projector.  there were about 20 people in the audience including a friend who i know from shooting concerts (he used to be a teacher in jane’s department at school before she joined)

we got our brexit voting forms which is fun

the girls all had school.  jane got her nails done fancy after school

school, work. photoshoot for the lawyers, youth, music rehearsal until 9pm, more report writing for jane.  older people in the family feeling ill with colds
