i worked from home because we had a glazier come along to look at replacing a window. then i had a really busy day of work at home.
everyone else had school and musical things
jane got some shreddies from school because we leant the school trip some power adapters.
another stupidly busy day for me at work, the picked up kezia, ate a quick dinner, went out to a church meeting and photoed this olympic medal winning kayaker, then rushed home to do some revision before giving a talk over the phone for an hour to britain. the talk was quite low key with not one person actually turning up, but it doesn’t matter as it’s recorded as a podcast.

day at home doing admins and handing over trademe items to buyers
jane had a lovely hair cut this morning
this afternoon esther and i popped out to eh post office to post some more won items and buy a new keyboard for my computer
then this evening we went round to tracey’s house for a mid winter xmas meal
cheesy peas
jane’s birthday today. hoorah. she had a breakfast with her chums and a nice day i think
jane and i went to a restaurant for her birthday dinner this evening while esther and kezia were at home having esther’s birthday party
esther’s birthday party involved a raclette dinner and a mystery pass the parcel they found and which we think we must have done for kezia’s birthday party a while back so that was funny.
lots of our trademe auctions came to an end today and most things sold so that’s good. will be a busy weekend meeting people and handing over the goods i think
busy day at work for me. the girls did various things, i think esther’s had a music workshop rehearsal thing
i arrived home just before a man came along with a giant metal detector to find where our electricty, gas and telephone cables run so we have nice graffiti all over the front garden
the first lot of gardening happened yesterday too and we now lack trees in front of our house and around the back. more photos when i’m around during daylight (perhaps if it stops raining over the weekend)
in the evening jane and i went to see The Cure at Vector Arena. i didn’t get a photo pass so had to make do with taking some snaps from our seat with my compact camera
i tried to get a pass via work because Spark has a marketing arrangement with the promoter, but despite lots of chasing i didn’t hear anything back 
addendum – i had an email on Friday afternoon from the organisation apologising but they’d missed my email in their inbox and they’d see if they could get me a pass for other shows. not sure if i 100% believe that story, but we’ll see. shame anyway!
the band played for 3 hours and were excellent. jane and i got home at 12.15ish i think
even though i didn’t get a photo pass i knew where the photographers would be waiting so popped over to say hi. it’s a small community so i knew all these guys. bit like seeing a group of friends going off to a party without you really!
another really windy night (and morning). so much so i drove in to work rather than risking the double decker bus on the bridge. as i drove over the bridge the signs were flashing ‘severe gusts’ but no buses did fall over so that was good
work is just so busy for me at the moment so that’s not great fun. i did have time to meet up with a church friend before work and my old music photoing friend andrew at lunchtime
this evening i went to the opening of a photo exhibition run by our photo club. i didn’t have any photos in the exhibition myself though.
not sure what the girls did today but jane has been out eating chocolate this evening and both the girls are on a sleep over so it’s just me and pearl here this evening.
i’m a level 5 pokemon go person.
i don’t know what everyone else did, but i went to work and had a really busy day
and we’ve kicked off the landscaping with the first part (tree chopping) happening this week

esther went to a friend’s house to practice a piece of music which her friend is doing the accompaniment for
kez met up with a friend and went to the cinema
jane and the girls were up early to scope out a car boot sale type market which they are going to be selling at next weekend to raise money for their choir trip
they got back in time for us to all go to the community planting session in the reserve behind our house. it wasn’t as bad as it could be, although i did manage to dig up an old possum which was absolutely disgusting (i thought i’d gone through an effluent pipe!)
we spent the rest of the day tidying and sorting things to sell next week and this evening i’ve been loading lots of things on to Trademe (NZ version of ebay)
