church this morning then everyone did school work/prep

i went to a japanese day and then a street concert in a park

kezia went to a friend’s house

weather is still stinking hot!

jane and esther went in to the mall early to get some alterations done to esther’s ball dress which she bought online and doesn’t quite fit.

then after an early lunch we ended up walking half of the north shore coastal walk from Takapuna right down to Devonport.  it was about 10km overall i think and we had to scramble over a few rocks. but mostly it was just empty beach all the way

we got the bus back to the car then left esther in takapuna to go to a french market

the rest of us had lunch on the deck by the pool.

i’m not sure what happened after that as i fell asleep at 5.30pm and woke up again at 10.30pm and am now doing my taxes before going back to bed.

and a bird or some other big animal has been in our house and has left quite a lot of ‘mess’ in esther’s room.  she hates birds

work (busy), school for the girls.  jane had a day off after her 5 days of school camp so she went to the mall to be re-beautified and then met up with janine

this evening jane and i went in to town for dinner then watched my favourite afro-beat band playing

some strange things happened during the day

jane came back from camp (hoorah)

i went out this evening to photo a japanese band in town

jane and esther walked pearl on the beach

lots of telephone and video meetings for me today including one with someone i used to work with in the UK who is visiting Christchurch so that was good.

jane is still on camp.

i drove the girls to school this morning and that didn’t take as long as yesterday thankfully

kezia went to a friend’s house after school

esther had some music thing then came back by bus

i walked pearl, picked up esther from the bus stop then went to camera club

more planes and construction today (this is the field where jane used to walk pearl.  now off limits!)

i drove the girls to school this morning and they arrived at their music practice nearly half an hour late which wasn’t great.  traffic was particularly bad and nothing to do with my driving

otherwise, another day working from home.  i popped out for a speedy walk with pearl at lunchtime.

the girls had a music rehearsal after school so came back after i had left as i had a lecture on copyright at Auckland university which was good.

now we’re all back. no word from jane for a while, so let’s assume she’s ok!

these four military planes were flying over head most of the day

the girls had school sports day today and both came back rather red from the sun after a day of sitting outside without shade!

esther was on prefect duty all day so was pretty exhausted.  she had her concert band practice this evening so didn’t get home until 7.30pm

i worked from home and walked pearl this evening

i also had to pop out to buy a kettle at lunchtime as our old one blew up and broke the internet (i mended the internet, but didn’t attempt to mend the kettle). i also went to the bank and a book shop where i chose to park my red car next to three other red cars to get red car connect four.  who said working from home was boring

jane went to camp

kezia and i photoed baptism and wedding vows renewals at church

i spent the rest of the day photo editing except when i popped out to pick up esther from her school camp, followed by a quick and slightly frightening driving lesson!

jane is now in Raglan

lots and lots of rain today (had to empty lots of water out of the pool this evening)

esther has gone on a school music camp for her choir

kezia was going on a church youth camp this weekend but decided she didnt want to camp in the rain so cancelled this afternoon

jane and i have been married for 21 years so went out to eat meat at a very fancy steak restaurant
