i worked from home today which was good.  it meant i could take a photo of me with a santa out of my head.

jane did mainly music, then school.  she’s been busy all day.

pearl has been up to various things in the garden.  after work we went to a nice restaurant.  it was quite empty when we arrived except for one other family at the table next to us which contained kezia’s teacher (a reliever teacher for this week only)

then this evening i’ve been writing up the church music team justification thing for the equipment we want to buy.  we’re giving it another test on Sunday before we take our recommendation to the money men.

this is my yesterday.  beard update

my colleague took this picture of me and aimee to show what happened to our team since we split last week between legal and non-legal.  He wanted to show the legal people had gone more upmarket.  Aimee said i looked like a homeless person (but didn’t mean any offence).

after work i parked up in a carpark next to the arena in the centre  of town for the Radiohead.  i was really pleased as the space was right opposite the exit.  When i tried to drive out at the end of the evening i discovered it was the wrong exit though as it didn’t have a ticket inserty thing, but i still got out ok so that was good.

i bumped in to a chum from church in mcdonalds before the concert, then again on the way there.  and then he was sitting a few rows in front of me.  not bad in a huge stadium

and just a few rows behind me were abbie and darren.  abbie is a friend from the UK i used to work with and was one of people who got me the job at Telecom (or more correctly got me for the job)

it was packed and very loud and very good

the support band (in purple, first band photo above) was connon mockasin and i recognised the bongo player even in the dark as one of the phoenix foundation

that’s it. was excellent.

We could do with Peter here. I can see a plant growing in our gutter

Dave has gone to a Radiohead concert this evening. Haven’t seen him, so don’t know how he spent his day.

School and church office for me. School for the girls.

Yay, the boiler is mended. Not sure what the bill will be, but at least we didn’t need a new one. The plumber had to pump it up with a bike pump.

A day of domesticity and school for me. School and vio for esther and school and swimming for Kezia.

kezia got player of the day at flippa ball for scoring a goal and being generally brilliant.  they drew 4-4

various nightmarish things happened at church with the sound, but luckily all before the service started and we got them sorted.  it was the first week on for poor phil (seen here on a chair) and i was there to help him out. just as well as it was a definitely a two man job today

this afternoon we went to see the sound of music at the cinema with debbie and laura (dreadful picture above).  it was really good, but about 4 hours long, including the intermission

i’m looking a bit jollier in this daily update as my mum said i looked a bit miserable in the other ones.  some people might like the miserable look, so here’s one of them for you:

along the way i also managed to trial some new monitor/foldback speakers at church, create the church sermon podcast and do a load of forms for moving our pensions to NZ.

We bunked swimming this morning, as it was on at 6.30. So a lie in – yay.

Then messing around at home, including phoning up plumbers as our boiler seems to be misbehaving, as it’s showing an error code and making odd noises. Sounds like it will need a spare part, so no point in anyone coming out before Monday. So far, there still seems to be hot water.

This afternoon Kezia and I went into Auckland to see Mary Poppins at the theatre. We  went in on the bus, had a MacDonalds lunch and an ice-cream afterwards and the show was excellent. Dave drew the short straw and went to tennis, where there was a no show, but he did marvellously at finding someone at short notice and sitting around in the wind and the rain.

Lots of fireworks tonight but Pearl is cool

here i am with the sky tower sticking out my head.  have you worked out what’s going on yet?

cruise ship – that’s a sign summer is on its way.   my day started with a meeting in a cafe.  I then went on to a leaving do with cake and then another leaving do with more cake.  i didn’t eat any cake.  then lunch with buzz which was great.

i had a meeting later afternoon which just allowed me enough time to pick up kezia for her swimming lesson where i sat very quietly watching a film for an hour before heading home to eat red cod.

this sign is a great one isn’t it.  i like to think there was an open packet of crisps on the counter from which you could chose the two complementary kettle chips (unless you had bought some smokes [cigarettes] )

I haven’t asked jane what she or the girls did today yet as our paths haven’t really crossed today.

there were ducks on our driveways this morning.  i had to shoo them out the way, but every time i did they followed me back in to the garage.

here’s me on the way to work looking full of beans. busy day at work, plus a few things to do with my friend phil.  and i had lunch with Alex (a man) who moved over from the uk recently and comes to our church with his family.

jane had a music practice this evening, did admin, school, met her friend Mara (a lady) and that’s that

kezia had swimming this evening and esther did her music practice

esther also did really well in some brainy persons’ exams, so that’s excellent.

there were loads of short people dressed sinisterly round knocking at the door this evening.

and this evening we had a work do for my boss’ boss who is leaving, followed by drinks where a number of old colleagues appeared which was jolly good too

i had coffee with phil and went for a healthy walk this evening

the girls played in the pool for a while and pearl played on the lawn
