jane had a busy day at the church office and at school

i had lunch with alex from church and coffee with another church chum this afternoon between giants piles of work

on the way to lunch i spotted the big sun halo which was like the spooky moon bow thing i saw a few months back. 

this is the new christmas decorations on the main shopping street in auckland.  i only noticed the stars once i looked at the pictures

this evening the girls went to the beach with pearl whilst i waited at home in case i got a call from the church elders who have been looking at money things this evening (including my proposal for a new church sound system.  they did phone with one question but i don’t know what they decided yet

esther made a computer game at school, but she didn’t enjoy making it much.

i bought some free glasses off the internet which came from canada.  jane doesn’t like them.

everyone had school.  i had a really busy day at work and popped out this afternoon for my blood test.  the nurse did it amazingly fast which was rather alarming.  She must have had some vacuum powered syringe or something.

kezia had swimming and esther violin and jane did pearl walking.  this evening debbie came round

The day started with Kezia and me taking Pearl for a walk at Long Bay. You are allowed to walk dogs until 9.30 on the beach in the summer. Long Bay is very good for Pearl as there are lots of dogs to play with and lots of people who like dogs around.

Then skype with Pooch and Party and then church. Then some garden maintenance for me, while Dave and Kezia made some more Pearl Away 2000 s. These are fantastic things to stop your dog from going into rooms where she shouldn’t. Also, you could use them as horse jumps in the garden.

This afternoon we went to Amy’s 13th party, for family friends. Her birthday tea was all

her fav foods from years gone by and her cake is the giant cupcake.

Kez then had Flippa ball

And another walk with Pearl finished the day.

Kezia had her first inter club swimming competition where there were people from New Zealand and even pacific islands like New Calendonia, Tonga and even Tahiti!

Jane said Kezia was excellent and she won her race knocking 3 seconds off her personal best time from a couple of weeks ago!

meanwhile i was at day 2 of my conference having come home for the night last night (and tonight) so i didn’t have to sleep on the floor of a library with 30 blokes and then fight for the showers/toilets in the morning!

the (un)conference was good but quite tiring. 

this evening we watched three episodes of Boarder Patrol with the girls.  Our advice is that if you come to visit us in New Zealand, make sure you don’t bring any drugs or fruit with you.

Dave is away on a work jolly for the week-end so it’s us girlies home alone. We have had fish and chips for tea and in a min I will do my Christmas cards.

Dave had his colonoscopy today.

It seems to have been fine and not revealed anything sinister, so that’s good.

I have spent most of the afternoon/evening in the car ferrying family members from hither to yon.

oops, we missed wednesday.  i was at home doing dietary things ready for my thing on Thursday.  jane was out all day doing various things and then was out at night at her book club.

i took pearl for a walk on my own this evening.  it went ok.  otherwise, a busy day of writing and meeting and then a lecture after work

jane had a tricky day at her church job in between her school job

and i didn’t eat any nuts, seeds or wholegrains.

this was me yesterday, but not much change today moustache wise.  i’ve had a pain in the eye all day which i thought must be an old eyelash or something, but i couldn’t see anything and it hurt all day.  so i popped in to my opticians on the way home.  they said it would cost $40, but in the end did my eye inspection for free and gave me some free eye drops and were very nice.  i’ve been there three times this year and they’ve refused to take any of my money!  excellent.

jane had school and then brilliant christmas shopping and then brilliant food shopping and brilliant coffees with her chum (so she tells me)

esther had tennis and kezia had swimming.

then this evening jane went out for a walk with her chum

jane took pearl for a walk on the beach early whilst the girls skyped their friends in the UK, then we all skyped jane’s parents

then i went to church with esther whilst jane took kezia to a swimming training camp ‘champ camp’ for her auckland junior champs race next week.  this was followed by a sausage sizzle and some practising of team chants.

i picked kezia up from this as jane had by this time gone home to pick up esther to take her to tennis which didn’t get rained off. esther’s team lost again but had some good games

then this afternoon kezia and i built a prototype of the Pearl-away 2000 which stops her coming in to the office. shortly after this was completed and installed Pearl bit a hole in my trousers whilst i was running round the garden. 

then this evening kezia had flippa ball.  they lost 7-3 i think but did well not to lose more against a very good team
