here are some pictures from wellington

here’s some pictures from the kumeu show on saturday (including esther with some chickens)

i got back from wellington.  wellington was really nice and sunny and warm and not windy this morning.  it was good to catch up with my boss anyway so probably was good to stay over.  the flight was a bit wobbly on the way back but not too bad.

girls had school. and it rained lots while i was away apparently.  but the promised cyclone apocalypse didn’t appear luckily.

jane has gone out with debbie this evening to a chocolate cafe as debbie is leaving tomorrow for a few days

i’ll get round to posting photos at some point.

i was up early to get my flight to wellington which was always going to be exciting due to the approaching cyclone which was due this morning.   i packed stuff for overnight just in case i couldn’t get back due to the wind/rain and prepared for the worse with my flights. i’d also booked a hotel room just in case which had been booked as there was no cancellation fee

in the end my flight to wellington was nice and smooth and the conference was ok (it was at te papa)

jane and kezia both had school

my flight coming back was an hour delayed so i phoned the hotel to see what the latest i could cancel it would be (i feared my flight being delayed may have been an early indication of its pending cancellation).

the hotela said the deadline was 6pm on Sunday night so i was going to have to pay for the hotel anyway.  So in the end i’ve stayed in Wellington as my return flight could be changed for tomorrow without cost !

apparently it’s very wet in auckland.

jane went off with her lady chums early in the morning to do the colour run which is a running race where everyone throws paint at each other.

kezia went to a church meeting in the morning

in the afternoon i went to our church’s 20th anniversary party to mark 20 years since the church started

jane did school work in the afternoon

kezia had an orchestra workshop in the afternoon

i went to the doctors in the morning to see why my face was hurting and i was feeling so exhausted.  the doctor decided it was sinusitus which explains why i’ve been so tired this week.  i’ve got a pile of tablets and sprays and am already starting to feel better

i drove in to town and picked up esther at 8am to take her to the Kumeu show as she was playing in the Kumeu brass band and i was teaching someone photographing at the show.

esther and i both finished at 12.30 so grabbed some food then i dropped her off back at the bus station. i then went home and jane and i went to the de kwant’s house to say goodbye to tracey’s daughter and son-in-law as they are moving to london in a week or so.

kezia went to school during the day to help at a physics competition.  she put out lots of pies for them to eat.

in the evening the three of us went in to town to watch Neil Finn play live with the Auckland Philomena Orchestra which contained esther’s old trombone teacher.

on the way back from the show we walked by another legend who was playing for free in town.

just school and work.  been a busy week for all

we all went to the mall yesterday after work/school to help me buy some trousers.  i was so exhausted i fell asleep at 6.30pm and slept through the night.

i got my multifocal lenses and looking is all a bit crazy at the moment.  i hope i’ll get used to them!
