jane and kezia were up early for her 5.30am swimming lesson

all the last Sylvanian Families were picked up from the great auctions

jane went out for a long walk with esther and pearl

then she went out for coffee with tracey and janine

this afternoon i went to Muriwai with Nori and Mike.  it was quite chilly

jane did writing of school reports this afternoon but was hampered by technical difficulties.  it’s not clear if they were to do with the school website or my earlier fiddling with our home internet connection

then this evening i watched some doctor who with the girls

another nice walk to work this morning

busy day for me and also jane with all her marking as well as school etc

this evening we’ve been to the school quiz night

esther’s big band played before it started and they were excellent

by some bizarre twist of fortune jane and me, together with our friends Biffy and Malcolm ended up on the Head Mistress’ team.  also on our table were the deputy head, the head of esther’s school house and a science teacher.  here’s the headmistress doing a selfie!

we came a respectable 5th

esther and me didn’t get back until 11.30pm by the time she’d finished packing up

busy days at work/school.  2 degrees this morning so a bit chilly.  sounds like there’s little heating at esther’s school so particularly cold for her.

this evening there was violin and youth for esther.

jane’s doing exam marking.

and my boss was up from wellington so we had lunch which was nice.

it was nearly down to zero degrees last night, so this morning was a chilly but bright morning and perfect for photoing, including the picture above which was taken by dangling my camera over a puddle

the girls had school, which were all very cold

esther had violin, kezia had swimming.  jane had lots of reports to do

i finished off my application letter and CV (thanks to a couple of friends who reviewed it for me)

and all the last trademe auctions came to an end.  just a matter of matching the buyer to the money and finally giving / posting the right thing to the right person now.

jane and i managed to sit in a bar for nearly an hour while both girls were at their different things

i had a long chat with a confusing lady about what to do with a bit of our mortgage which is coming to the end of its fixed period (it’s common here to split your mortgage in to multiple mini-mortgages and have them a combination of different fixed and floating rates.  Ours is split in to 6 different bits so there’s always some fun to be had at renegotiation time!

church, walk with pearl, lots of home worky type things. bed.

jane and kezia spent many hours at a swimming competition this morning.  Kez got three PBs, but not quite fast enough to get in to the national interschool competition (although she would have done if she’d been born a few weeks later and was in the year below)

i prepared and submitted my photos for the North Shore Salon

and also attempted to update my CV and create a covering letter for a job application i think i’m going to go for.

esther did her homework then watched hours of border security

this afternoon they went shopping for stuff for Esther’s Duke of Edinburgh award trip which is a bit walk in a couple of weeks’ time.  we got a massive discount due to Telecom having a special voucher for this weekend which was excellent.

i met them there to prove i worked at Telecom, and then went over to drop my printed photos off

we all got back home in time to do a speed-tidy before Debbie and Laura came round for a raclette

and then there was some board and card games

i used my lens baby which is why there’s lots of weirdness in these photos

i had a couple of meetings today about a potential new job i’m thinking of applying for, including a chat with the guy who is currently doing it. 

jane had a full day at school

i took kezia to violin then swimming so i could do some work while waiting to make up for the time i missed in the day

i ate a subway salad (above)

jane had school then met with her german friend peggy and her kiwi friend fleur

the girls had school

kezia had swimming this evening

i met up with an old work colleague at lunch and talked about job changes

i also went to the post office four or fives times through out the day getting quotes for sending sylvanian families across new zealand, and then buying the packaging, waiting to be paid, then actually sending them

this evening esther had to fill in some forms for her hungarian hotels

it’s starting to get a bit chilly in the evenings
