monday
manic day at work for me. jane met up with a neighbourly chum for dog walking
esther had her violin, trombone, sports bag and normal school bag this morning as she was playing with her violin in the orchestra at the girls school assembly then her trombone in big band at the boys school, then had her trombone lesson!
kezia had swimming this evening and esther was out watching a school talent show so jane and i went out for a meal. unfortunately the place i chose was rubbish so we went to Wendy’s for burgers instead!
i popped in to town at lunchtime to pay some cheques in. on the way i saw two people from camera club and one person from church. and a little photo exhibition.

saturday
jane was up early to drop esther off for her two day hike
then she came back, walked pearl and took kezia for her full day of swimming competitions
i went off to Henderson (about 25 minutes away) for an impressionism photo course
mid morning esther rang to tell me her walk was cancelled because the track and hut was potentially damaged by the storm in the week so the track was closed
so instead they went to Miranda for a walk and some fun instead then came home a day early
jane meanwhile was doing a four hour stint at organising swimmers which sounded horrendous
here’s the photo lecturer with some props

thursday
kezia spent much of her school day bobbing about in a swimming pool as she had water safety training which involved capsizing boats and floating around on chilly bins (cool-boxes for you british readers). as a result we let her off swimming this evening
i had my interview this morning. not sure if it went particularly well. we’ll have to see. should hear early next week i think. i spent the rest of the day working from home.
currently jane is busy stabbing paper plates with a bradawl and esther is packing for her two day hike in the Coromondel. They leave early on Saturday morning but she’s out tomorrow evening playing in a concert

wednesday
massive storm last night. felt like not just the house but the whole of auckland might blow away. but it didn’t thankfully. meant not much sleep for us. 50,000 homes lost electricity (but we were ok).
everyone had school today. esther had tennis. and a band practice first thing.
this evening was photo club night and i got an honours for the impressionist picture above.
and my colleague at work printed my photo on to a giant canvas for her front room which was nice (seen here at the office).
