kezia and i spent most of the day at Gibbs Farm which is a very fancy sculpture park with giant sculptures set in an amazing private farm with giraffes, buffalo, emus, alpacas etc.   It’s owned by some posh millionairre who lets it open for public access for fund raisers.  800 people bought tickets and it raised a lot of money!

kezia’s choir sang and so did the boy’s choir.  just as they were about to start it chucked it down with rain. but then it was fine.

after they’d performed kezia and i walked round the park and took some pictures.

jane had a day at school on a mindfullness course.

in the evening kezia went to a church youth movie night

work, school

dinner with esther and then a concert (without esther, but featuring esther’s old trombone teacher and esther’s new trombone teacher in the orchestra)

esther told us she went to a posh hotel for breakfast with a friend. they paid their money and made full use of their 90 minutes allotted time during which they had 6 types of breakfast each!

we sent esther a picture and she sent this back (her old trombone teacher is unmarked on the right.  although his name is Mark so he is sort of marked.

esther came to work with me early as she was meeting her chums at her hall for breakfast

jane and kezia had school.  nothing much else to report

work for me.  car went in for its first year service and did well.

jane did school prep all day

kezia went in to auckland to see esther and they both came back this evening for tea

jane went to the gym early

kezia had a day at home watching telly

i went to the zoo for opening time and had to queue for 20 minutes just to get through the gate as there were so many families there (sunny day, public holiday, hour change so all kids awake early i suspect)

i whizzed round in an hour so was back by 11am as was jane

so jane and i spent the afternoon at Piha North where we walked over the saddle of the hill to White’s Beach which is a nice quiet small beach

church in the morning.  jane and esther arrived a bit late as esther’s bus from town was delayed by road closures

i did the church podcast

then in the afternoon jane took esther to her brass band performance in Henderson with the Kumeu Brass band

meanwhile i took kezia to a party

in the evening we dropped off esther at her halls (and had a quick look round) and picked up kezia from her party on the way back

everyone is sad as our local Charles Junior burger place seems to have closed down

there was an egg hunt in the garden

esther and jane went shopping this morning

i got some tyres on jane’s car replaced

kezia came back from her sleepover

in the afternoon we all went egg rolling then i went for a walk at long bay

i stood in the sea at one point with my hands dangling in the sea and a fish bit my finger (drawing blood) so i had to get a tetanus shot on the way back home just in case!

the bite doesn’t look quite as dramatic once i’d cleaned it up, but you could see three puncture marks under and two above my knuckle where it bit me!
