busy day at work for me, including taking nearly 400 photos!

people wore black at work to support the new zealand cricket team and i was asked to photo everyone in the company.

one of the TV companies came along so they organised the crowd and i spent 20 minutes running up and down the internal stairs while a newspaper photographer got all the best shots!   i got a few acceptable ones which were used on our intranet

a few minutes later a couple of my colleagues shaved their heads for charity

esther has gone on a music camp

anni had her last wind surfing but it was rainy so they did paddle boarding instead

kezia had a murder mystery party with her church youth group

and i spent ages editing pictures!

esther had her equinox concert tonight where her big band, concert band and choir all performed

anni and kezia came along, but jane was doing a parents evening so couldn’t make it.  they went well i think

all had busy and long days

i got asked if the support magazine for tiritir matangi could use one of my images on its cover which was very nice of them (i said yes)

and it looks like our fridge might be broken.  we don’t know if our dishwasher will ever be mended

here’s anni next to a fridge full of energy drinks.  she was forced to drink lots of these on her bike ride and didn’t really enjoy them.  don’t blame her!

quite foggy this morning at home and pinky in town.

all the talk in the office today was about cricket

esther had music before school and then music until 9pm today

i had a madly busy day at work

kezia went to an exhibition at her old school after school and met up with old friends which was great

anni went wind surfing which was also great

jane went to esther’s parents evening

and i went in to town to say goodbye to Sam who is heading back towards britain and has kindly left me his rather nice guitar!

we managed a quick trip up Mount Eden before it got dark

usual mix of music, school, swimming (anni)

jane had a parents evening

i had a busy day at work and walked by the fan zone which was showing the cricket

anni and kezia came with me early this morning.  we have to leave early these days to get a space in the carpark and avoid standing on the bus.  half way up the road kezia remembered she’d forgotten her violin so we had to go back.  we ended up standing …

kezia had an orchestra sectional (hence the violin) and a choir practice

i worked from home this afternoon because the dishwasher man was coming again in an attempt to mend the dishwasher he’s tried unsuccessfully to mend over the last three weeks.  he couldn’t find what was wrong so took it away like an undertaker to observe in his lab.  we’ll find out on friday if it can be mended.

so, although technically we weren’t left with a broken dishwasher (as he took it with him) we did end up with a non-functioning waste disposal unit which is quite handy when doing washing up.

sorry for the rant.  i’ll go to bed now.  but not on a bench outside a posh jewellery shop like the chap in Queen Street this morning (photo above).

church this morning then anni and her friend went bungee jumping

one of her other friends and i watched and photographed from the sidelines

esther had a concert band practice this afternoon which she thought was boring (but she didn’t phone up to ask if she could come home)

kezia did homework and jane did preparations

after the jump we went for a quick walk round the waterfront then picked up esther again and dropped everyone else off back at their homes

esther had tennis today and won both her matches.  this was her last match of the tennis season

jane went to the gym early this morning

and i took kezia to school for 8.20 so she could go on a school choir day

according to Kez the day was really boring!

after tennis we went to the long bay cafe and enjoyed looking round a local open home

this afternoon there was home work and house work

anni came back this evening having had a great time mountain biking round Rotorua

and there was a praying mantis on the door

jane had her second day on her course which sounded good

the girls had school

this evening we went in to albany for dinner

i worked from home today as a man came to mend our pool light.  i spent the day writing a document

and then we watched some family telly (final of the sewing thing)

anni went off on her cycling trip today and had to be at school at 7am, so she and i left a littler earlier to get a seat on the bus.  but it was still standing room only.  but she made it to school ok.  they take their mobile phones off them so next time we’ll hear from her will be saturday evening

the Cunard Queen Victoria boat was in Auckland today which reminded me of my mum arriving on it this time last year  it’s massive.

i met up with buzz for lunch which was very pleasant.  we sat inside the Aotea Centre and chatted while a chap played piano in the background nicely.  very civilised

jane has been on a course all day today across town which has been good.

kezia had orchestra and esther had tennis

and this evening Sam, my old friend from university, came round for dinner which was nice

lots of school and work

i chaired lots of meetings

esther had concert band sectional and big band and choir (i think).  kezia had violin

anni did wind surfing which was a proper workout as it was quite windy, and then did shopping for her school cycling camp as they have to take all their own food

the volvo boats left today.  i had a meeting (which was then cancelled) at the time the boast were leaving, but they were getting ready as i walked by first thing

jane had book club this evening and kezia had youth.  

i also spent a while on the phone to the UK tax department explaining why jane and i don’t need to do a UK tax return any more.  hopefully they will agree.  we’ll find out in a few weeks time.
