i bought some spoons today and got my coat mended by a mender.
jane went to the gym and walked pearl and got ready for our evening dinner for 9.
esther and kezia did homework all day.
people from church came round with food and we all chatted nicely.
and now it’s now.
school, work. sunrise, sunset. another day etc
esther went to a chinese evening with her chums this evening and kezia went to a games evening with her church youth group
and kitkats have gone minty apparently
very long day. left home at 6.30am with esther. came home at 10.30pm with kezia.
esther had to get to school early as she was going to the Big Sing competition. her choir was singing, but they weren’t actually in the competition this year as they’ve won for the last four years and wanted to give other choirs a chance i think!
today was the last of the judging and this evening was the big performance where 25 choirs sang.
kezia’s choir did a great performance at the concert this evening and got highly commended, won a trophy for best something or other and were mentioned as highly commended for two other trophies.
busy work day for me then rushing to meet kezia off the bus and walk her up to the choir concert which was nearly 4 hours long.
jane had a busy day and lots of school work but managed to slip out this evening to see her chums and eat Thai food.
it would be fair to say everyone is tired. except maybe esther who was in bed by the time we all separately got back this evening.
kezia spent the day in the Town Hall today for a choir singing competition. she was in two choirs. they find out how they’ve done tomorrow.
i spent the day in bed with a sore throat/bit of a temperature.
jane had lessons this morning then an afternoon or school preparations.

then this evening jane and i went to watch kezia’s two choirs and esther’s choir perform at the school hall
during the day a man from the house builders came and looked at the house so hopefully i’ll hear from him tomorrow
i had lunch with Buzz which was up to its usual high standard of conversation
and half way through the day i found out the government is publishing a consultation document on a subject i’ve been working on for the last year, busily trying to get the law changed. so that’s good, although required a bit of last minute work when i got to read and summarise the embargoed document before i headed home to go to the concerts
church then everyone did homework/school prep/photo editing.

jane was up early for the gym etc.
this afternoon we visited the arts centre to look at my photos. unfortunately the mounts were falling apart which isn’t a good look. the chap who made them is going to go to the gallery on monday and mend them which is nice of him
esther spent the day at school doing some United Nations thing and kezia has spent much of the day doing a scrap book for school
this afternoon kezia, jane and i went for walk from mairangi bay to campbells bay
pearl had a bit of swim too
then this evening jane and i went to a cinema to watch Gemma Bovery at a boutique cinema. this was a different one to the place we went last week and the cinema we were in had around 20 seats. it almost felt like we should go round the room introducing ourselves and explain why each of us wanted to see the movie.
and i spent a bit of time today sorting photos from the bands yesterday.

busy days at work / school for all and a bit more rain at lunch which prevented me from going for a walk
the girls took themselves to the mall on the way home and jane met them there to do the final paying for things
i talked to the people who built out house to see whether we can get them to mend our roof under the guarantee. they are going to come on monday to see.
and i went to a concert this evening as the official photographer for the bands. the vent was the last concert for a band which some friends from church are in so they asked me to take a few shots. i took 900. so they’ll need to be some editing!
as expected kezia was well enough to go to school, but i worked from home anyway
i used the opportunity to get a roofing man round to look at the leak while it was still damp. he came, saw, climbed, clonked about and decided he needed to do some serious work in a few weeks time when it’s a bit drier. turns out the roof hasn’t been finished off properly which is a shame. i suspect it’s going to be expensive to mend, but needs doing
esther’s tennis was cancelled due to the weather. kezia had something musical
