sunrise on the way to work this morning was very pretty

i met up with buzz for lunch and there must have been some school gymnastic/dancing competition going on nearby as there was various kids stuff about including this advert for girlfriend magazine!

jane avoided having any of the inspectors in again today so that was good.

both girls went to school early with me for musical things (i think)

and i met esther at 6pm at the bus station on the way home

and a colleague spotted this toilet being lifted near my office and rushed me over to the window to take this photo

sunset on the way home from work this evening was very pretty

school for the girls including lots of music things for kezia.  esther made up some of her missed exam time after school

jane had a busy day at school.  they are being inspected this week, but she wasn’t observed today (and probably won’t be, so that’s ok)

weather has been glorious today but going to be quite chilly overnight.

the shortest day

and some extra cables have appeared on sky tower i noticed

church then school lesson preparations / homework / music practising / sleeping (me)

esther went to see the latest jurassic park then the girls and i went to the supermarket and bought lots of the wrong things

and, the results from the photos competition came out.  i did very badly this year.  of the 16 photos i entered only 2 even made it to acceptance!  oh well.

i was at takapuna at 8am to help with the computers for the North Shore Salon judging.  it was a busy day but jolly good. 

my images did pretty rubbishly in the digital section but i haven’t heard how i did in the prints.  probably just as bad i suspect. hey ho.

jane was going to go to the church lady’s retreat but was too poorly and spent the day in bed.  that’s quite rare for her.  she did get up this evening for some family telly watching so hopefully is on the mend.

the girls just mooched around the house doing homework and watching telly and playing SIMs etc

school and work. and then …

this evening esther has had some friends over to learn practice and sing a korean song for a video competition

kezia has gone out with the church youth group looking for gnomes

and jane and i managed to escape out to go for a lovely meal at Tides

and it’s Matariki this weekend.  you can see the matariki constellation in this bucket

kezia’s choir have decided not to enter the Rotorua competition as they have got through to the final of the Big Sing down in Wellington.    That’s good for parents as the Wellington trip is expensive enough!

esther had tennis and i forgot to pick up kezia from the bus station so didn’t even get home before i had to turn round and drive all the way back again!

esther had a concert band rehearsal before school, proper school ‘internals’ exams during the day, entered a team mastermind competition at lunchtime, went with her choir in to the cathedral in auckland to record a couple of songs for television (Praise Be), then got back to school for her Big Band rehearsal which finally finished at 7pm.   we popped in to the supermarket on the way home. oh, and she made her first scrambled egg which was a strange brown colour

jane is just SO busy at the moment with school stuff

kezia had school and is at church youth this evening

and i had a crazy busy day at work again.  so much on at the moment!

esther was still a bit too poorly to go to school so i took her to the docs to get a sick note first thing as it meant she was missing more exams.  that all went smoothly and i got to work just after 10am.  she’s feeling ok to go to school this evening though so all is well

did jane mention a man turned up yesterday out of the blue to mend our roof?  he was from a completely different company and when he saw we’d already had a man working on it he went away again.  all very confusing.

jane had a long day at school which involved a power outage in the languages block (tricky for an all electronic device school) and parents evening this evening

i had nearly 5 hours of back to back meetings today which made for a rather hectic afternoon

Dave uploaded the bog – or thought he had and now it has gone missing.

Esther had her first day ever off school sick in NZ today. But she will be going tomorrow.

Kezia is very excited as her choir has made it to the Big Sing Finals in Wellington.

jane stayed at home with esther who had been a bit poorly over night, giving jane a full day of report writing

i went in to town to go to the auckland art fair which was really busy.  i saw this man in green at a bus stop

then i walked up queen street and back taking some street photos on the way

rest of the day for kezia was spent on home work then SIMs
