the lovely jane was a singer in the church band this morning
and our milk is in a black container which reminds me of engine oil
otherwise it was homeworks, napping, revising, houseworks and a lovely dinner
this morning i went over to Hobsonville to take some photos for a local history book which our friend Janine is writing. we popped in to the farmers market and a stall holder asked me to quote him for some product photography! not sure if i want to do that but nice to be asked. will have to think about it
meanwhile jane went to the barbers for a haircut
this afternoon kezia and i went to see the results of the inter photo club competition where she was one of the six entrants from our club. we came 8th out of 9 clubs ! but kezia’s image held its own in the competition in my opinion
esther has been doing revising all day
and jane has been doing school work
then we all went to the cinema this evening to see People Places Things which was very pleasant
i had lunch with buzz today
and saw a broken video screen
esther had the day at home today studying. she’s had a few mock exams this week which i’ve failed to mention on this blog and has more next week. she seems to be taking her revising very seriously which is good
jane had school and had some student teachers observing her who gave her good feedback
i saw a fire engine outside Sky Tower
this evening we watched some murders (on the telly)
school/work for all. lots of rain at lunchtime meant i didn’t venture out for lunch with buzz (rescheduled for next week instead).
jane has a church band practice this evening
and the last lot of my festival photos have appeared on Cheese On Toast

the girls had a day off school today for teacher training, but jane’s school was normal
poor esther had a concert band rehearsal 7.30-8.30am and a big band rehearsal 5.30-6.30pm so still had to go in to school. the boys school didn’t have a teacher training day
i had the day off – the idea being i would sleep in. but in the end i got up just a little bit later than normal, did various sortings, then had a two hour work phone call (i’d borrowed those two hours of my leave to have a snooze last Friday afternoon)
then i met up with my old university chum sam who had just flown in from blighty.
we drove over to Bethell’s beach and walked along to the cave, didn’t sea a seal, but did see a huhu bug crawling around in circles.
they taste like buttery chicken apparently
we then went over to the dunes before heading home for a quick drink before taking esther to her big band practice, grab some lunch, pick esther up, dropped sam off, dropped esther at home, picked up kezia for youth, dropped her off at youth then went to camera club and eventually came home again
i think i need another day off.
school for all.
here are some photos from my concert last night. totally insane lighting and stage show. guitar smashing and throwing around, including at one point the guitar going through the ceiling and getting stuck there for a while! i loved it.
everyone had school
esther had concert band and her violin lesson
i spoke to a person at length about life insurance (not related to gig photography!)
oh, and in total contrast my aldous harding photos are online here: http://cheeseontoast.co.nz/2015/09/08/live-photos-from-the-others-way-aldous-harding/
school for all. dead mouse count is up to 3 with our new fancy elastic band trap.
kezia lost her bus pass
and i’m out taking photos of another concert tonight. then i’ll have a rest for a while before doing any more!
meanwhile cheese on toast has started to post my images.

more to come!
father’s day today so as a special treat we had burgers and sushi (there were takeaway options)
esther and i bought a new fancy mouse trap which seems to kill the mouses by putting an elastic band round their heads very quickly. we loaded it with peanut butter and chocolate and within a couple of hours we had our first catch!
the girls found an old sticky alien yesterday (actually, i found it as it’s been living on top of the fridge near our fibre router and worrying the broadband repair engineer when he visits)
kezia and i built this book case for her room very efficiently. she got on with some bits while i did other bits and then we just put it all together. she’s quite handy
it was school work, revision and sleeping for everyone else.
chores today. i spend the day editing photos. jane went to the gym then went for a run with pearl and did lots of housey things
we all went to the cinema to see Me and Earl and the Dying Girl which was excellent.
kezia is re-arranging her bedroom again
esther revised
not all my shots were successful. but i did get them all edited. i’ll let you know when they get posted on cheese on toast.
