church this morning then supermarket and some shopping
kezia had a party this afternoon. i had a sleep. esther and jane did school stuff
jane and i took pearl for a walk and the cicadas in the cemetery were deafening

esther had tennis this evening and won both her matches
the days are drawing in which makes for sunrises on the way to work
i had lunch with andrew from cheese on toast
i spent two hours this evening driving back and forward to hardware shops trying to find some plastic piping to replace a pool pipe which is in the way of our pool fence gate if it gets mended properly which might mean we fail our pool inspection. end result was that the none of the sized available in the various hardware shops fit, so we’re a bit snookered. i’ll phone the poo shop tomorrow to see if they can help
otherwise there was school for everyone
then dentist for kezia after school
and esther had tennis this evening which is also turning in to a nightmare for finding enough people to play their games on a Friday each week (poor jane is the manager so has all the hassle)
and i met up with buzz at lunchtime

i had a busy day at work
too much butter in the pancake pan
it was a mondayised waitangi day today which made for a public holiday. huzzah.
jane and esther and pearl went for a walk first thing then it was pancakes for those who can eat them
then we all went to mahurangi bay but there was a wind blowing off the sea making it a bit chilly. we sat around, at our dinner (not in the car) and i made up a quiz about the london underground (did you know there are only two station whose names don’t contain any of the letters from the word ‘mackeral’?)
after that we headed in land and did a walk up the hill in puhoi and had an icecream on the way home
and this evening we’ve had our first meal from the new dinner bag thing which we got delivered yesterday night. tasty.

very rainy morning – jane and esther took pearl for a walk and got soaked
we all did domesticy things this morning then this afternoon i went to the zoo as the rain had calmed down a little

kezia turned 14 so we went out for a meal
during the day everyone had school/work. jane’s first week with the kids has gone very well but we’re all a bit exhausted (so apologies for the slightly later than usual update)
