  • friday

    esther had a friend over and drove herself to North Head for fish and chips

    kezia cooked some cookies. she and i went to look at the cost of beds as she’s still got the same bed she had when she was at primary school. they were much more expensive than she thought so that idea is on hold for now.

    i went to the zoo for an hour. i saw some animals

    jane did millions of things round the house including putting down the xmas decorations

    jane and i are off to waiheke for a few days so they’ll be no updates for a while.

  • Thursday

    more domesticness for all. esther and i did lots of errands today and i went back to the doctor who told me my cough will probably continue for another 5 weeks so that’s fun.

    this evening the girls went out to see Mary Poppins

  • wednesday

    kezia went for a sleepover at a friends house in the evening. jane continued her amazing throwing out session and i went to the beach and got sunburnt feet. but on the plus side i got lots of fresh air

  • new year’s day

    jane and i met up with an old friend of mine from university who was passing through auckland for a couple of hours with his family. that was good

    esther and matt took kezia to Muriwai for a walk and a look at the gannets. then they did a load of strawberry picking.

    i made it through the day without having a three hour nap. progress.

  • new year’s eve

    a quiet day with a bit of shopping

    in the evening esther and matt headed in to town to watch the fireworks. they spent hours getting back though due to buses

    kezia went to a couple of parties, one of which was a sleepover

    jane and i went in to town with church friends to have a meal in an italian restaurant

  • sunday

    we went to the zoo yesterday morning. the little zebra in the pictures was born on Christmas eve so is less than a week old.

    afternoon was domesticness/sleeping (me)

    jane and i went for an early evening stroll at Long Bay

  • saturday

    jane and the girls took pearl for a walk round Hobbsonville this morning before the day got too hot. they stopped for a drink in the cafe before coming home

    esther and kezia did some shopping this morning while jane did great works in the garden. kezia has gone out with a friend this evening.

    i’ve been really tired so have been mostly doing sleeping

    jane and esther were up early to walk pearl on the beach, then we drove the two hours to Hamilton to look round the gardens. on the way back we picked some blueberries

  • Thursday

    mostly taking it easy but we did go for a walk this evening along takapuna beach. and we had a cherry tomato which looked like a chick

  • boxing day

    we woke up late, did some family skyping then ate a big breakfast. then there was snoozing (another three hours for me).

    this afternoon we went to muriwai for a walk. the rain has stopped but it’s still windy, especially out on the west coast. but with it being hot and humid, coat choice was a challenge. there was also quite a bit of flooding on the access road, but luckily we found a parallel path which was dry.

    this evening we went for a games evening at Janine’s house with Debbie and Courtney.
