here’s some photos from saturday night’s show.not many people, in fact i was the only one there for quite a bit of the ni
ght. literally the only one. no bar man, no musicians etc! and the first band set up in the dark and played without any lights on them. good test for my new camera.
all four ladies went to the mall this morning while i stayed at home and did adminy type things
then this afternoon we took pearl to the beach
jane dropped kezia, lucie and me off at the top of muriwai so we could walk down by the gannets
we then walked along the beach until we intercepted jane
esther stayed at home to do homeworks
i’m out photoing some bands this evening in one of the darker venues
i worked from home as we had a massive umbrella delivered.
girls had school
i popped out at the end of the day to get my new camera which was the culmination of the last few years worth of birthday and christmas monies! thanks to everyone who contributed 
lots of work/school then the gala concert tonight with both the girls performing with all their instruments/voices.
Lucie came along with us and enjoyed the music too
and things are progressing well with the garden – all the preparation work is done and the planting will begin on Monday

very wet and cold this morning on the way to work
everyone had school. esther had a choir practice until 9pm
planting begins in the garden tomorrow. right now it’s a muddy bog
i had a busy day in wellington and made it home
jane, esther, kezia and French Lucie all had school
the girls had a music rehearsal until 8.30pm
i’ll add some pictures of snow capped volcanoes to these blog posts tomorrow night
and three more volcanoes on the way back to auckland
I left home before 6am to get to my 10am meeting in Wellington. The meeting ran through to 5pm but luckily I’m staying in the same hotel as the meeting so that was ok. this evening I had dinner with a couple of colleagues
It’s bitterly cold in Wellington and at home in Auckland too apparently due to the heating problems.
I phoned the boiler fixers this morning and they said it might be a week and a half before someone can come out to fix it 🙁
we also ordered our deck umbrella and got our revised quote from the gardeners with the extra cost of pulling up the weed mats (and a decision to leave them in place in a couple of places where they can’t be lifted without destroying the rest of the garden!)

i didn’t hang outside my door
and there was a carpark half way up the hotel lift which was a bit weird.
the girls sold sausages from 8am until 3.30pm. Jane and i sat in a car at different times nearby so we were available if needed.
Lucie our french homestay arrived this afternoon. she’s staying for a month
our boiler is now dripping water as well as not working properly without twiddling the air vent. i suspect it has a problem!
kezia was in charge of cooking and esther did front of house. i asked how many they had sold and kezia said “10 were lost to the fire”. she didn’t make it clear whether that was sausages or customers …
i had a really busy day at work as i was at the legal offsite day. my home bakery didn’t win anything (the judge didn’t even taste it) but i took some to the media team in the afternoon and they all thought it was amazing so that’s good.
after work i walked up the hill to K-rd for the First Thursdays street party where i saw various people i know from our camera club and concert photoing so that was fun.
i was totally exhausted at the end.
sorry this is all about me. not really talked to the rest of hte family for a while!

Lucy the french person came home with the girls after school to say hello but was gone by the time i got home
gardening work is going to be more expensive than anticipated as removing the weed matting which is all around the house is proving to be a real pain as fibrous roots have grown through the matting and it requires an axe to cut it out by hand.
sometimes i get on a different bus route in the morning – they all go straight in to town so it doesn’t matter for the bit of the journey i do. but on friday i stayed on all the way to the end of the line which was in Newmarket. then i had a nice 45 minute walk across a park back to the office
