i worked from home today. girls had school and music practices. Lucie went to the auckland museum with a year 9 class.
i popped out at lunchtime to meet up with a friend who used to be in a famous band that you wouldn’t have heard of. he gave me some of his albums in exchange for a photo of a Tui he’s going to use as an album cover
the deck work has begun (should finish tomorrow) and the gardener guys planted the last few plants and watered the garden a bit
i occasionally went outside to look at workmen doing things
esther’s choir sang at the closing ceremony of a literary conference then she went to a korean church with a friend. she had a good time, despite her and her friend having to wear their school uniform at the church because they didn’t have time to change! very formal
kezia stayed at home this afternoon doing homework and packing for her trip

all the girls bands and orchestra won the main prizes at the KBB Music festival this week, including the Big Band who have never won a competition before
esther and kezia’s orchestra was the best orchestra. here’s the piece they played at the gala concert this evening
esther’s concert band was the best concert band and scored an impossible 100% !!!
there were two gala concerts to go to today. jane and lucie went to the 2.30pm one which had chamber orchestra and concert bands. (the westlake chamber orchestra also won best chamber orchestra)
then kezia and i went along to meet esther and lucie for the 6.30 while jane went to our friend laura’s 21st birthday party
just when we thought the night couldn’t get any better, on the way back we to mcdonalds where the cashier said we were the nicest customers of his evening!

i worked from home today as the boiler man was coming. he didn’t arrive until 4.30 though, but i’ve got a bit of a cold so was good to be at home anyway. lots of work to do.

esther and kezia went to the cathedral this afternoon to compete in the KBB festival with their orchestra
church this morning then domesticy things the rest of the day. esther went to the university library to study algebra. karen the garden lady came round to show us her pants and then she sprayed on the floor where the deck will go.
