school, work for all

school for all the various ladies and work for me

esther did something in her school assembly but i don’t know what.  i think it was related to wanting to be a prefect

for those keeping a track on our various projects:

– boiler won’t get fitted until mid September as an import piece of the flu isn’t available currently in New Zealand

– pool fencing will start next Monday and take a week or two to complete and they have to put the frame in then order the glass.  which is interesting as it’s a frameless fence

– our letter box has been painted and will be posted this week.  then we have to get the builders back to fit it

esther’s choir won the best choir award, a gold award and the best choral work

kezia’s choir got a silver award which they were very pleased with

jane’s school got a gold and so did the westlake boy’s choir

church this morning, then jane and i took lucie to wenderholm

 

i then drove over to the airport to pick up two very tired girls who arrived on separate flights from Dunedin

we also put our new umbrella up to check it was working properly.  seems it is!

Jane, lucie and I went to sky tower this morning and then the zoo this afternoon

We’re all feeling a bit ill so sat round this evening watching the girls’ choirs performing at the grand finale for their choir competition in dunedin.

Esther sent an update to jane saying she was having an excellent time site seeing during their free time.

I’m going to bed early so will edit my tourist photos and add them to this post tomorrow

work for me then i felt sick so came home this afternoon and slept

i managed to catch kezia’s choir singing between meetings before i came home

it’s been crazy windy out this afternoon and evening

and this evening we watched esther’s choir singing

Here are when the girls are on:

 

• 9am Thursday 25 August in UK  (8pm Thursday 25th August NZ time): Choralation (Esther’s choir) are the fourth choir in the session

 

• Midnight Thursday 25 August in UK (11am Friday 26th NZ time): Cantare (kezia’s choir) are the last one in the session, so probably quite late for you Brits

 

• 7.30am Friday 26 August in UK  (6.30pm Friday 26 August NZ time): Choralation (Esther’s choir) are the third choir  in the session

 

• Midnight Friday 26 August in UK (11am Saturday 27th NZ time): Cantare (kezia’s choir) are the second one in the session

 

• Then the big finale is is 7.30am (6.30pm in NZ) on Saturday 27th August.   We don’t know if the girls will be on this yet, but it’s sure to be great anyway!

nice sunrise coming over the bridge this morning then a day of work

jane and lucie had school

as far as we can tell the girls have had a day of travelling today but i’m not entirely sure of their origin or destination.  but i do know they stopped about 2 minutes after they started for people to go to the toilet

karen the landscape lady came along after work to talk to us about plants.  luckily it’s raining now so we don’t have to water them for a fortnight

and the deck got finished (you can also watch the tide in the creek come up and down)

there’s me in the garden again looking at the new deck which is nearly done.

jane has parents evening this evening so lucie and i got fish and chips

the girls took their suitcases to work this morning then flew off to christchurch.  i think they are were heading to christchurch cardboard cathedral this evening
