i photoed a band in a record shop this afternoon. they were doing a showcase for an international global summit and i arranged it directly with the record company so that was good
esther spent the afternoon in the university library
jane did lots of school work
i had to take photos at church this morning for the website. here are a couple i made. i suspect they won’t use these.
and here are some photos i took of the band last night who were excellent

work/school for all
i had a particularly long day as i had to help a colleague finish a document as all my other colleagues were either on leave or off sick. he’d left everything to the last minute so i knew we’d be working on it until quite late so i whizzed home after lunch so i could work on it from home. i finished the bits i could help with at 8.30pm (i was at my desk before 7.30 this morning as usual) and i think he’s still in the office in wellington working away!
our letter box arrived in the post which was a nice way for a letter box to arrive. And amazingly one of our old soapy-bells christmas soap dispensers burst in to life (sort of) this evening for a few seconds so we all gathered to watch until it died again. perhaps it was awoken by the earthquake last night which resulted in an tsunami warning but it was only 30 cm so wasn’t a threat to our house.
you can read about it here if you like: https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/scientists-concerned-over-proximity-7-1-shake-north-islands-most-threatening-fault-line
lucie left us and is now on her way back to france. she starts university on monday in Lille. hope she gets over her jet lag quickly!
jane is out supervising a school play this evening
here’s a piece of computer history i saw at lunchtime when i walked by a mechanic’s workshop – a computer complete with floppy drive, crt screen and a massive remote control which i think is unrelated
I think most of you know the geography of new zealand but I thought I should do a quick update to say we weren’t affected by the big earthquake this morning.
It was apparently felt in auckland but I suspect only by people who live on wobbly houses balanced on stilts. And cats.
Anyway, we’re all safe so not need to worry 🙂 (just in case you were)
school and work for all
jane, esther and lucie took her suitcase to her friend’s house so it’s ready for transporting to the airport tomorrow
i met up with photoing chum Ivan at lunch
esther got excellence in one of her music performances which counts towards her music exams (it was from ages ago apparently)
and this evening we had burgers to celebrate Lucie’s leaving
