work today. getting up at 5am felt like 4am because of the hour change so i’ll go to bed early
girls got their ears pierced and then went in to auckland for some shopping fun
jane did housey things
it stopped raining long enough to sit out on the deck this evening

lots of rain today and the hour changed so we had to get up earlier
church then this afternoon jane went out to watch songs from musicals being performed in auckland with a friend from school
i did lots of organising chores (i even had a list) and emptied the bucket underneath the boiler which still hasn’t been replaced.
halfway through the afternoon someone turned up with a big bag of pearl’s dog food which had been delivered to them at the end of the week before last in error. they live about 15 minutes away and the delivery people must have stuffed up. meanwhile we’ve had a replacement one delivered so are now ok for dog food for a while.

quiet day as it’s been raining quite hard.
jane went for a walk with pearl on the beach first thing and did some food shopping
otherwise everyone has been in watching telly/doing chores
i finished editing my photos from last night’s concert and shaved my beard off (much to jane’s relief)
work and school. then school holidays!
i went out to the cathedral to photos some old new zealand singers who everyone knows (except me) singing songs which everyone knew (except me)
i worked from home. it’s interesting what happens around our house during the day when we’re not here:
an electrician mended some light fittings (which is why i worked from home)
an estate agent knocked on the door to see if we wanted to sell our house (or buy one)
a man came to clean the pool and was about to start when i asked him why he was doing it so soon after the last clean which was last week. he said he’s check his book and said the last pool check was in May. i then told him we’d sacked his company as they were rubbish and were using someone else. he then noticed our account had been cancelled!
some men came and replaced a piece of glass in the pool fence so it looks better and also took some metal fence away
a friend brought back some of my photos he’d been borrowing and decided to buy my big canvas print
this evening kezia and i went to late night shopping to buy her some new glasses as she lost her other ones. we got a complete bargain so that’s good
we also went looking for a screen protector for my new phone but failed
jane has been stupidly busy at work during the day and during the evening
work, school, rain, youth, book club, marking
i’ve still not seen the picture of jane dressed as a tea pot

school and work for all. pearl didn’t get a certificate today but was still good apparently.
i met up with the lady who runs the dance troupe i took photos of a week or so back. she went to the royal ballet school in london back in the day. fancy! she was pleased with the photos so that was all good!
girls had various musical things and more good results from their mock exams
jane is going to a school ball tonight dressed as a teapot
one of my colleagues laid out lots of pieces of paper on the floor in the office for a photo. the CEO turned up to have a look
school, work. esther and kezia got some of their exam marks back and had done well
i got a new phone at work and met up with buzz at lunch now he’s back from his UK travels
and we’re all celebrating pearl’s great success today
church this morning with a baby dedication and our pastor going on sabbatical
this afternoon i went to the zoo and kezia has gone to the cathedral for a youth service
and i started wearing blue socks as my green ones ran out
rainy day today so we couldn’t go out and enjoy our new garden/deck/fence
so instead we went in to auckland this afternoon and did one of those escape from a room puzzles. this time we finished in under half our allotted time thanks to a team effort
after that jane and i went to a look at some south american art while the girls wandered round the shops
esther saw one of her music teacher’s husbands on the wall
and we stopped by the Ben and Jerry’s shop on the way home to eat some very expensive ice cream
