the concert last night was good.  lots of light and interesting musicians, and the crowd weren’t too boisterous.  and convenient parking.  everything you want in fact.

we were up relatively early this morning to do our self defence course.  it was a lot more physical than i expected. 

jane and i beat each other up, while kezia and esther beat each other up.  And at the end everyone beat everyone else up.  we’re all quite achy and a little bruised.  This is what we had to sign up to:

to celebrate us getting out of the course alive we went for lunch on the waterfront before heading home.

i slept most of the afternoon (trauma related i suspect!) while jane did some gardening

esther did revision and kezia has been out to her youth leaders’ house for dinner

girls had school.  kezia lost and found her bus card. she’s quite good at losing it and not so good at finding it, so this event was seen as a positive one.

jane had her fitness lady come round after school

i worked from home as i’m still feeling a bit poorly, but i’m going out tonight to photos some ‘Americana’ bands. i don’t think it will be too late an evening

i worked from home today and the girls had schools

jane went for a walk with a school colleague after work and they collected pearl on the way

it was sunny out with a bit of a cool wind, but i sat outside at lunchtime for a few minutes to have my lunch which was nice.  summer is slowly approaching

esther had quite a late night with her music formal dinner so we were back home quite late. i was then up early for work today which was a bad idea as i’m still a bit ill so ended up coming home mid morning and sleeping the rest of the day

esther was fine and had a good day.  she got lots of medals/certificates last night at the dinner

kezia was awake when we got home last night trying to finish some homework so we sent her to bed at midnight but she was up before 5am doing the final finishing.  she’s gone out to some youth thing tonight

jane had a good day at school

kezia got a badge at school for being in the top 60 of her year group last year.  she also had her audition for the top choir – she enjoyed the audition but didn’t think it went very well

jane had a good day at school and had spent the evening doing lesson prep

i met up with Buzz at lunch and sat opposite this art installation

church this morning then sleeping/homeworks/school prep the rest of the day.

nice sunny day today.  our friend Tim from our old village in the UK was visiting for work so we went for a walk and an ice cream at takapuna beach

Janine and James came over this afternoon to look at some pictures from Singapore, so we’ve been showing off our new garden to everyone

and it was finally nice and sunny today so it felt a bit like summer at last.  it won’t last unfortunately

stormy day – still very busy at work but doing interesting stuff so that’s good

jane spent the day doing school prep

kezia went to a friend’s house this afternoon and esther stayed at home

wild weathers today as a big storm is whizzing up the country.  lots of thunder and lightning.  hope the garden furniture doesn’t blow away
