i worked from home today as i felt a bit ill (head cold i think). i went back to bed and had 3 hours sleep before the working day began so that was good at least.
both girls had exams and jane had school
i went to the supermarket this evening

so, big earthquake lower down the country which might actually have been four earthquakes at the same time which then triggered a wave of aftershocks across the rest of the country. we didn’t feel anything although i did wake up at the time it happened so perhaps it was detectable. quite a few people in auckland did feel it/them. my colleagues down in wellington weren’t allowed in to their office.
other than that, all had school, revision, work.
i’m meant to be down in wellington for various meetings which, if they all happen, will now run from 10am to 9pm, so in a way i’m hoping they’ll be cancelled even without earthquake aftershocks!
just in case you were worried, we didn’t feel any quakes up in auckland. poor people down south
i got up early to photo the church band while jane and esther went for a walk at long bay
church then this afternoon i went for a walk at long bay while everyone else did home works/revision/school prep

i finished editing photos at 1.15 this morning was up at 5am for work. i had to go in to the office early to complete a document for government before spending the rest of the day at a conference

this is how kezia told the rest of us about the dead bird here phone autocorrect got a bit confused
great news. we have heating again. i had to run the underfloor heating during the day to check it was working and get the air out of the system so it was actually quite warm by the evening and the floor feels warm again (i’ve been going round in bare feet to find the hot spots).
the girls had their stringed instrument auditions for the orchestra
kezia had a music exam which she had been looking forward to
esther went to the university library for studying
i had a really busy day at home as i’ve got three big deadlines this week and i’m at a conference all thursday and friday
