We’re on holiday today so I’ll update with all the details later in the week.
For now here are the girls at a beach this afternoon
i went for some blood test first thing in readiness for my annual checkup sometime soon.
jane and the girls went shopping. i was going to go to the zoo but it was very rainy so i built a website instead ( www.aucklandstreets.com )
jane met up with Debbie for a coffee
this afternoon esther went to the cinema to watch Beauty and the Beach with a friend, and this evening jane, kezia and i went to the cinema to watch Beauty and the Breast too. it’s quite singy
that’s it really
bit of an earlier update today so you know how we got on in the storm.
essentially, nothing happened in Auckland. not even a decent rain fall. just a bit of drizzle and some slight movement in the trees. i think we were lucky as other bits of the country are being hammered.
bit strange though as the newspaper websites were full of warnings to stay away from town and how they might have to shut the bridge if the gusts got above 160km or something. i left work at 3pm which was a bit later than others and picked the girls up on the way home as i drove (rather than risk the double decker buses on the bridge)
it’s so calm i’m going out to photo this evening
see ya
school, work. crazy rains ahead of the cyclone which is coming tomorrow bringing more crazy rains and big winds. exciting http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11837260
this evening was the westlake proms concert which was excellent.
jane and i spent a bit of time moving our garden furniture to more secure places in case the potential 140km/hr gusts blow them away.
i had coffee with an old chum this morning and met a chap at lunch today where we agreed that i would run a monthly street photography course for him (and get paid) !
otherwise, a busy day at work
jane did millions of walking of pearl on two walks with two friends and caught up with one of her church chums
the girls had school and music practices
work, school (E&K), music things (E&K), day of holiday (jane)
jane and skipped church and went for a walk at KareKare which ended up being a little more rugged (ie not much of a path), but a great little adventure
we had a quick lunch at piha then came home, collected the girls (who had a good time on camp), then the rest of the day/evening has been sorting/chores/homeworks etc
i was up early and down town for the first of my two street photography field trips. Unlike the other field trips i’d provided a map, some information and gave a fifteen minute talk to get people started. turned out that was a good thing and people really enjoyed themselves. i got home at 5pm exhausted and jane and i ate burgers while living the dream in the garden.
jane has been doing millions of things while i’ve been out – tons of housework, gardening and catching up with friends.
i’ve no idea how the girls are getting on which i will assume means all is well!
