school for the girls

work from home for me this morning then i picked jane up and we both went to Ollie’s funeral for the afternoon.  i was surprised to see a few work colleagues there as i’d forgotten Ollie’s dad worked at Spark for a while.

then this evening i did my first photo shoot for Getty Images.   It was 70s disco band Boney M and they were really excellent.  we got to shoot the whole show so i ended up with 1300 photos to whittle down to less than 30 as quickly as possible.  i got them done within 2 hours of leaving the venue so that’s not bad, although i think they would prefer 1 hour.  maybe next time i’ll take less photos!

girls had a choir competition all day with their respective choirs.  the evening was the gala concert and both choirs won various awards.

jane was also there all day as her school were also competing so she could be a official teacher!   that was great as she got to watch the girls, hob nob with all the choir leaders and then in the evening we could sit together and watch it!

this evening jane and i went round to a friend from church’s house whose son had passed away to pay our respects (funeral is on Friday).

this evening i’ve spent a few hours working through the software i have to use to upload my images to Getty.  it’s quite complicated but i think i’ve cracked it (with the help of a UK helpdesk).

fingers crossed i get to shoot my concert for them on Friday evening this week.  We’ll see!

kezia and her sleep over friend completed her 40 hour famine (thanks to those who sponsored her!) and celebrated by making loads of pancakes

it was warm enough to sit outside at lunchtime which was lucky as we could avoid the pancake chaos in the house

here’s how much our garden has grown in the last 9 months

i had a day at home doing various tax return things.  I’m still feeling quite grotty so it’s good not to be rushing around

jane and the girls went to the mall this morning and jane met up with debbie this afternoon

this evening jane, esther and i went to see a french film at a different boutique cinema.  it’s the place where someone ate a bag of crisps really loudly through a film last time.  and someone did the same this time, though not quite as dramatically!

kezia has a friend here for a sleep over who is also doing the 40 hours famine

i was off sick again today with my cold.  everyone else had school.

this evening kezia started her 40 hour famine (she’s after sponsors if you’d like to sponsor her to not eat much for 40 hours – she’s going to have a bowl of rice Saturday evening)

esther had a driving lesson then has had to go out tonight to watch a school play because she’s an arts prefect

kezia had a trip to a german restaurant this evening

esther had music practice then a careers fair this evening

i met up with an ex colleague at lunchtime and we popped along to a photo exhibition in the silos
