saturday
esther, kezia and i spent eight hours at the cathedral yesterday for their gala concerts. The westlake symphony orchestra, concert band and chamber orchestras all got gold awards and the big band got silver. there was no first place awards this year as they’ve been abolished because Westlake won them all last year!!
jane came to the first concert then came home to do household and school preppy things
fay went to the museum and then a food festival with a uni chum
I’ll add some audio at some point

friday
school for kezia then she got the bus to the cathedral in the evening
esther had KBB music competition during the day and then was at the cathedral with kezia in the evening for the all stars special orchestra which they were both in this year
esther played her trombone in the orchestra so that was a change for her (she usually plays violin)
fay had university, jane had school and i worked from home as i had to read the Telecommunications Act (fun!)
this evening jane and i went to the cathedral to watch the girls in the KBB Honours Cathedral who were conducted by a chap from Hawaii University
we also watched the KBB honours big band who always have great conductors with crazy hair
here’s a video of one of the orchestral pieces – the orchestra didn’t know each other and only had three hours to rehearse
